« The coqui are LOUD! The bed was fairly hard. The shower was tiny with only luke warm water. Alex was a great host, communicated well and even walked to the end of the road and helped us find his place in the dark. If you’re only planning to sleep here it’s ok (be mindful of the first 2 sentences). Otherwise “lounging comfortably” is not an option - bed and 2 dining chairs. Location was good. Not too far away from Volcanoes NP, and near enough to Hilo. »

« We recently stayed at this property for several days and had a really nice experience. The check-in process was smooth for the most part, and the directions provided were clear. However, we were initially given the wrong gate code, which caused a bit of confusion. « A unique getaway with options if you want them. We opted to eat and talk past dark at the table on the 2nd story deck outside the room. We heard some night birds and a nice steady rain as we slept. Our hosts communicated in great detail. Make sure you read their text before you get there for the best stay. »

« Just like camping. Carpet had not been vacuumed. There was one light and one outlet that could only be used for charging devices. No hair dryer or curling iron use. Two towels, no hand towels or wash cloths. Bathroom sink was only plumbed for cold water. Shower liner was peeling and there was no bathroom light. Common area was not clean. »

« We had a wonderful experience staying at this apartment near Hilo. The owners were very nice & helpful with info about the apartment. They also offered advice about places to visit nearby. The apartment was very clean, well maintained & they even provided a water filter jug for the fridge. They had lots of beach/pool equipment to borrow & had really thought of almost everything you might need for your visit. The acre of land is beautiful to walk around & enjoy all the plants & garden they have...
