« This is a guest house beside the owner's place. The room was clean and spacious and the weather at the end of March was so comfortable that we didn't have to switch on the AC at night. However, it did get very hot in the day so we opened the windows to let the hot air out. Also, a few very cute and friendly cats also live on the property. Loved the place! »

« Stayed at Cabin Kai 4 (Dec 26–30, 2025). Affordable and located in a beautiful, peaceful area with free parking, water, and Wi-Fi (weak). Major concern: No window coverings for the floor-to-ceiling bathtub window or windows above the bed and coffee bar, resulting in serious privacy issues while bathing and sleeping. This was very uncomfortable. Remote location (45 minutes from Hilo); a car is required. No cellphone reception. No nearby restaurants or shops. Towels were not very clean, and...

« Very lovely location and very remote and safe compared to the rest of the town. The waterfall house is a full house with all amenities and is an absolutely fabulous place to stay. The cabins are cute and we had the place to ourselves but if we visit the big island again we will be sure to reserve the waterfall house for the full stay because it’s just so wonderful! Staff was very helpful, peaceful, clean and quiet. »

« A mon arrivée j'avais précisé que la note avait été réglée, pour payer les éventuels repas ou petits déjeuners, j'ai laissé l'empreinte de ma carte de crédit. Le lendemain de mon arrivée le montant du séjour a été à nouveau prélevé. J'ai eu des frais et le montant prélevé n'a pas été totalement remboursé... Très désagréable d'autant plus que le budget est à respecter. Difficile à trouver peu d'indications, faut avoir un gps et encore !!!! »

« Lights on and music playing when we arrived. I was amazed at how well they manage the moisture in their location. With a dehumidifier and air purifier it was not musty at all. I only comment on that because in previous experiences at different places in that area it was definitely musty. Lots of amenities and good information left for guests. »
