« Downstairs in the pub and restaurant i cannot fault it, the place is well maintained and clean. The bar is well stocked however it was very busy with only one staff working. Food was excellent and a great variety of choice. Breakfast was limited but the full English was brilliant. Upstairs really needs a refurbishment, the rooms are dated and tired, having said that it was clean and water/ coffee refreshed each morning. »

« A great location to stop after a long drive. Very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless with lovely locally sourced products. Whilst we didn't eat dinner here it was busy and there us a children's play area too. We ate at the Hare & Hounds; a very pleasant 20 minute walk away. There is plenty of car parking spaces at the Gilpin. The breakfast is very basic. We would definitely stay again but not opt for the breakfast. »
