« Charmant petit hôtel de passage, les chambres sont assez confortables. Petit point à revoir sur la literie et la propreté de la salle de bain. Nous y avons dîné 2 fois et la nourriture était bonne. Bon rapport qualité / prix! »

« Lovely quiet location, super handy for the airport. Warm welcome from the host. Super clean room, funky decor, comfy bed. Small touches like fresh milk in the in-room fridge, water and biscuits make all the difference. A lovely change from a “hotel”. Definitely would stay again. Thank you! »

« Beautiful older hotel with lovely gardens set on the lake with fantastic views of the lake from the bar and outside patio, comfortable slightly old fashioned in a good way, staff were excellent, helpful and welcoming. Would stay again. »

« Beautiful house,very clean and I saw them cleaning the room after we left and it was very thorough. Food superb and substantial with canapes and sorbet mouth cleansers we could not finish a substantial main course and no room for desert. Service friendly. »

« Excellent hotel bien qu'un peu cher. Tres bien situe pour explorer le Lake District, parking gratuit, personnel sympa et chambre particulierement comfortable. Excellent restaurant servant de la cuisine locale ainsi qu'un petit dejeuner copieux. »

« Hotel bien situé à l'écart des villages et proche d'une nature superbe. Malheureusement décor un peu vieillot et ....clientèle idem! Peut être les inconditonnels du charme de la vieille angleterre apprécieront (?). A noter que nous avions une des chmabres les moins chères (propre mais petite) mais cela ne change rien à notre avis sur l'atmosphère de l'hötel. Nous avons changé d'hotel dàs la 2ème nuit (même si tout avait été règlé d'avance et non remboursable!..). Ce n'est même pas une bonne...

« The room included parking and breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good location for Ambleside and getting the boats to other parts of the lake. Lovely clean room, good bed and bedding. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet and very good as were the evening meals. »

« The Tennyson Room (Room 5) was beautiful. The view was stunning, there were no irritations (wonky toilet seats, blown light bulbs, badly scratched paintwork etc.) at all. The receptionist was a great guy - good for a laugh and engaging. Breakfast excellent. Believe me - we are coming back it was superb. I have no connections with this place at all. It was so much better than the top of the range place we stayed at in Anglesey 2 weeks ago and cost £70 less. Thank you. »

« A wonderful pet friendly hotel in the heart of Grasmere. It was decorated beautifully, and the room we had was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious, with a range of cooked options and a buffet style breakfast too (not to mention the dog got a sausage every morning!). Our only feedback would be that our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, though it was only three nights. It would’ve been good to have the mugs and water jug refreshed, however I’m sure if we’d asked this would’ve...

« The hotel was perfect for a family week of rambling in a rain soaked week. Our puppy was welcomed and kids enjoyed the food. The room itself a little cramped with the sofa bed in use but but it was very comfy »

« Due to circumstances beyond our control we were forced to cancel our reservation at the hotel, which we did by telephone four days before our expected arrival. When the hotel refused to refund our prepayment, we asked for a raincheck, which they didn't even answer. »

« Loved out stay at this hotel and restaurant on our final day in the Lakes. We stayed in Scafell Pike with the only negative being the room was very hot (we stayed in late Aug). We would definitely stay there again. »
