Difficiles nuits !
Attention cet hôtel se situe en plein centre d’Oxford mais surtout au dessus d’un pub ouvert tous les soirs. Après la découverte de cette situation le réceptionniste m’a dit que c’était exceptionnelle, mais non !! Et apparemment c’est moi qui ne suis pas normal à ne pas pouvoir dormir la nuit 4 nuits de suite!!!! De plus la literie n’a pas aidé! Je sentais la structure qui semblait être du métal! Bref si vous souhaiter un endroit calme et avec une bonne literie passez votre chemin.

Man on reception was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There are 2 flights if stairs up to the Reception and rooms, but they are ckean, quiet and comfortable fir an overnight stay. Well located for accessing the centre of Oxford, lots of places to eat nearby, and served by buses which stip rught iutsude the entrance.

Uncomfortable beds, expensive hotel, not worth the money. Convenient central located. No lift no toilet paper , relatively noisy, antique heating system. We skipped our staying just because of the poor sleeping It’s ok for 1 night if you are desperate, book it late in the day as it might drop in price. Too pricey for what you get Bathroom decent size.

We chose the George as it was the cheapest most central hotel in Oxford. Couldn’t fault it. We were very comfortable. Lots of bars and restaurants in the street and many more in the streets nearby. Including the Christmas market.

I only stayed over night but it was a convenient stay. Easy to get back to the train station and where the places I wanted to visit. Not too bothered by the street noise considering the season. Staff helped with luggage that I was carrying and check out was easy.

The position it was in was Brilliant. Easy to walk to the museums etc....Plenty of eateries and pubs to get to . so very clean .we had all that we required . The staff were very helpful .

No one to check me in, ringing the buzzer for 5 minutes outside before I got let in. No explanation on check in about anything. No plug sockets near the bed. Very standard basic room, nothing to shout about.

Very basic
While this place is well located, the rooms look nothing like the pictures. The room was tiny, with a bed squeezed into the middle. The bathroom was tiny, the shower was broken and too small to stand in properly. All a bit disappointing unfortunately.

A comfortable place to sleep
After the mixup of the fact there are two George Hotels almost side by side, my actual stay was exactly what I needed. Clean & warm room, working TV, tidy bathroom (although not really suitable if you've "gained weight" as getting in the shower was a bit tight!!), comfortable bed... At the end of the day that's all you really need from a hotel room! A space to sleep Brilliant price for its location too! Only down side is that there are no lifts...but at least I added to my step count!

Perfect location and friendly staff
The staff were very thoughtful - I have mobility issues and the gentleman on the desk noticed this and offered to move us to a first floor room. I had not thought to request this when booking, but welcomed the offer. We had a very comfortable stay, in the perfect city centre location.

Disappointing
We were in Room 11, closest to the reception desk. We could hear every call and every voice as if they were in our room. Larger people walking by shook the floor and made our bed shake. Shower so small I kept hitting the controls. No AC, as expected, but windows were also locked shut, so no air circulation. OTOH bed was comfortable and hotel location was convenient.

Overpaid for the poor condition
Although the location is brilliant but the condition was awful. It's NOT you got what you paid. The night only worth half of the price.

Try avoid!
Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The entrance is dark and the doorway looks like someone has been sleeping in it. Extremely basic and grubby room, I realise the room is €160 per night.

Normally we would not have accepted the room, but we arrived late and were gone by first thing in the morning so we took the room we had paid for in advance. Note to self - never ever pay in advance for a room. (and Orbitz won't back you if a hotel is unsatisfactory) The "hotel" more like a small boarding house, has no elevator or reception on entry, so we had to lug our suitcases up a large set of steps. The room has 2 steps in it which can be dangerous in the middle of the night. We needed a converter plug since we're from the States and were more than surprised, and relieved, that the reception was able to provide one.

It's terrible
I didn't think I'd be staying in a hotel where you have to use a key to open the door. Also, I booked a room with a bathtub, but the reality is that it has only a small, cramped shower room. There were no disposable slippers, so I had to walk barefoot on very dirty carpets after showering. It made me very uncomfortable. Perhaps the only advantage of the hotel was its proximity to the city centre.

Perfectly adequate no frills hotel for a night or two and good value compared to alternatives. Excellent location for city centre. No parking but using park and ride is better than in town which is both limited and extremely expensive.

Great value for the money
Spot on location in the centre of Oxford, room a little small but the bathroom was really well fitted out for the size. Friendly staff and easy experience. Just bear in mind all the usual things about Oxford being a nightmare for drivers etc - I used the park and ride, my friend the train - and we had no problems it just required a little bit of extra thought.

Excellent short stay!
Hotel reception was very kind and accommodating! We were able to drop our luggage off early in the day and explore until the evening when we returned to check in. They took care of our belongings and were well organized. Everything was easy, the room is nice, and we are very content! I would have liked a refrigerator in the room but it wasn’t listed in the description so I wasn’t disappointed!

Fine for sleep and shower only
If you’re looking for something in a good location thats just fine for sleep and a shower, go for it. If you want extra comfort or quiet or cleanliness/no smell, find somewhere else. Pros - Cheap, Good Location, Staff friendly Cons - Curtains moldy (pictured) smell of damp in room, holes in carpet, drunk people yelling through the night.
