« Easy check in, cool spot. It's a very humid place in a thick rainforest, so there are some obvious drawbacks. The hot tub was nice and the area was really cool though, we had a good stay. »

« This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. « Rick and Katy are straight forward to deal with, providing lots of insider information on out of the way experiences on The Big Island. The view from the common area where you can enjoy the healthy breakfast that Rick and Katy provide is peaceful. The veranda is a perfect place to watch the two goats playing in the yard. The room is very clean with a fridge to store perishables in. The bed is a nice place to relax and get a good night sleep to prepare for the next day's adventure. Lots of extra...
