« Clean and private cabin within earshot of waterfall and a million coqui frogs. Friendly and helpful staff provided all we needed for a relaxing stay. The only negative we experienced was the poor WiFi, which we needed for trip planning and checkout. »

« Volcano Village Lodge est un petit établissement bien placé, proche du parc national Volcano. Très au calme au cœur de la rain forest, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Il dispose en plus d’un jacuzzi accessible facilement. Seules déceptions de notre côté : lors de notre arrivée une très gentille dame nous a informé que nous pouvions accéder à la réception pour venir se reposer, prendre un café, manger quelques snacks… sauf qu’elle n’est jamais ouverte. « We enjoyed the hot tub and the spacious house. There were enough towels and other items for our large group. Location was also perfect to visit Volcano National Park. »

« My family stayed here for a week for celebrations and a family reunion. The property is stunning and the hosts are kind, welcoming and well-informed on the area and property. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well-equipped (a vitamix!) The hosts are good communicators and I would highly recommend this place for a big group looking for lots of space in a remote area of Hawaii island. « Great location. We got there at dusk - tropical pathway lights didn't work - most were smashed. Hot tub was not "locked up" as supposed to be - and cloudy. Did not want to chance a UTI so - no tubbing which was the whole reason we picked this little gem. Sink clogged up, wallpaper paper falling off, possible black mold on skylight above bed. No batteries in remote. We left a day early. I hope they fix it up. »

« We loved our stay at the Volcano lodge! It was very peaceful, the jacuzzi was a nice place to relax at the end of the evening. Even though there were others staying on the property we rarely saw them. The lush rainforest was beautiful! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again! Thank you! »

« Beautiful property with a beautiful private waterfall. Definitely must try renting a property like this at least once in lifetime.However, the inside of the cabin needs some updating in the kitchen and bedroom. Sometimes little details leave a very good or bad impression.Kitchen: toaster did not work, all pans were scratched up and very old. Honestly, I would not want to cook anything in those pats. I suggest you invest 130 every 6 months to buy a new toaster, couple cooking pans/skillet, and a...

« This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. « Rick and Katy are straight forward to deal with, providing lots of insider information on out of the way experiences on The Big Island. The view from the common area where you can enjoy the healthy breakfast that Rick and Katy provide is peaceful. The veranda is a perfect place to watch the two goats playing in the yard. "Accueil très sympathique au Check-In avec une jolie réception. L’espace extérieur est super avec un accès à la piscine (un peu petite). L’hôtel en lui même aurait besoin d’une rénovation, surtout au niveau des chambres et des salles de bain, mais le confort est tout de même là avec une literie de qualité. Attention au ménage, notre réfrigérateur n’était même pas vidé à notre arrivée. De plus, le service « voiturier » est à revoir ! 25$ par nuit et le chauffeur n’a même pas été capable de conduire notre voiture prétextant que notre véhicule était en panne… pas très professionnel. Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel, c’était un très bon séjour dans l’ensemble, malgré quelques points à revoir ! "

OUTRIGGER Kona Resort and Spa

"Very nice place. All new, clean and the room was SO spacious. The pool is amazing for the kids especially. The pool restaurant was perfect but Piko for dinner was more average. The emplacement of the resort is a bit far from the action (Kona town) so you really need a car. Having said that, our 4 nights was perfect and I would got back. "
