« My wife and I were looking for an old English inn and this fit the bill perfectly. The staff was great and our meal in the pub just what we needed. I enjoyed watching the dart game going on in the pub. I would have rated the property higher but this was a building built in the 1600’s. It was just what we were looking for but not perfect for everyone. »

« I had a wonderful stay! The room is wonderfully appointed, quite large and very cozy. I was thrilled at seeing it. I'm still thinking about the amazing claw foot tub! The food at the Bower House below is absolutely delicious and the staff are incredibly kind and service-oriented. I hope I get to stay here soon again. The downtown area that the restaurant and rooms are in is so charming with many shops, restaurants, etc. I loved my three night stay »

« Somthing badly wrong here. Food on offer was only Chinese plus two Tex-Mex dishes!! (Luckily very good traditional pub fare up the road). The hotel plays on the name of Shakespeare's mother and excellent 16th century farm visit in the village but our room was boring 21st century furnishings plus a totally awful art-deco style lampshade. One couple arriving after us found no record of their booking even though they had printed confirmation. Another arrived another day to find no manager/ess on...
