« My mother and I had the best stay at Heathwood Inn when we visited Bar Harbor this summer. The staff is amazingly nice and they even prepared for my last breakfast the famous pumpkin waffles I had seen in the comments and nicely asked for - if possible (they are so delicious). It is also very easy to move around the island as one of the island buses can stop right in front of the Inn, allowing you to explore Acadia without a car and struggling to find parking. Yass! »

« Jim and Anna are wonderful, thoughtful hosts - and chefs! Breakfast was divine, and a new creative menu every morning. We’re still raving about their watermelon salad and baked blackberry strata! The Inn is just 5-6 miles from downtown, and on a street laden with food options too so you’re never too far from fulfilling your lobster roll cravings. Great sized room (we stayed at Somes Sound) with a comfy loveseat and TV that lets you sign in to Disney, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc. for cozy nights...

« The property is rustic but nice. There is a bathroom with shower on 1st and 2nd floor but the water pressure in the house does not sustain use of both at the same time. The main kitchen refrigerator was not working during our stay. There are minifridges on the 2nd and 3rd floor but it would have been nice to have working main floor fridge. »

« Delightful in located blocks from the ocean in Castine. Really great breakfast, bikes available to use, good wifi. There was a power outage due to a storm while I was there and while the building didn't have a generator, breakfast was still served the next morning and I noticed very little difference to the inn's normal procedures. Just a small thing, I don't think the heat in my room was on and it felt about 10 degrees colder in there than in the hallway outside. This is likely not an issue for...

« Normally my wife and I are not big bed and breakfast people. However, Harbour Cottage had some of the best reviews in the Acadia National Park area. We gave it a try and we are so glad we did. The Inn Keeper, Arlo, was very helpful with advice on trails. The Owner, Don, was friendly and helpful with tour and restaurant recommendations.
