« We visited Gettysburg and stayed at this property which is about 30 minutes from the National Historical Park. After a long day of walking and touring the Battlefield it was nice to come back to this property and have a nice peaceful evening. The house is secluded and in a very quiet area. We really enjoyed our stay »

« 5 STARS - We had a wonderful stay at this home and really appreciated the owner’s responsiveness and hospitality. Just a couple days before our arrival, a lightning strike knocked out the central AC. Unfortunately, due to the holiday weekend, parts couldn’t be delivered in time for our visit.That said, the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, buying and providing multiple portable air conditioning units throughout the house, which kept things cool and pleasant. « The place was well located to all places we wanted to visit. The only complaint is the traffic. Side of home was no more than 10 ft from major road with tractor trailer buzzing by all thru the the night. The listing mentioned road noise but never imagined being in the middle of it. »

« We very much enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful and the proximity to the canal trail is wonderful. Beds are very comfortable. House is adorable. Kitchen could be better equipped. I bought a few extra coffee cups and left them for the next guests. »

« We loved our stay at this beautiful Log Chalet/Cabin! Highly recommended place for a group of friends like ours. We enjoyed biking, hiking and restaurants in Berkeley Springs and Hancock. Much more to explore and enjoy! We plan to be back next June. »

« If we could give more stars we would! We can’t say enough about our stay from being so accommodating to the fresh milk, strawberries, eggs and beautiful bouquet of flowers that were left for us. The property was immaculate. The surroundings and yard are serene, private and post card perfect! We even were lucky enough to have a foal born when we were staying there. We would recommend this property to everyone! »

« My husband and I enjoyed our five day stay at the Canal House. We were surrounded by early American décor and felt like we stepped back in time with modern conveniences added. We were cool and comfortable in the midst of a heat wave, the mattress in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.The rocking chairs on the porch were great for morning coffee and conversations. The nearness of the C&O Canal Towpath at Taylor’s Landing provided wonderful opportunities...
