« I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. I spent so many happy hours there as a kid, and my granddaughters had just as much fun as I ever did. So, I am not your...

« The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. The deck was really nice. There was plenty of parking. Only downsides were no electrical outlet in the one bathroom and although the kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, there were no spices, condiments, foil etc so bring those if you plan to cook. All in all a very nice home and worth the price. »

« It was a very nice place to stay while visiting Chain O Lakes State Park. I stayed here with my father when we weren't hiking. The place is small, but efficient with its use of space. It was very clean, and the checkin/checkout processes were simple and easy.We were able to cook our own breakfast each morning, and relax on the couch and watch TV each evening. « This house was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. We are a family of six, and there was plenty of room for all of us for sleeping, dining, and spending time together. « The property was a relaxing getaway after long days at the baseball fields. Our kids played in a baseball tournament in Kokomo. We wanted somewhere to stay that was bigger than a hotel room with all the amenities and comforts of home. It was quiet and beautifully decorated. Kitchen was stocked with anything we needed to fix a quick meal. The owners were great at communicating. You can tell they take great joy in their cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. »
