It had a big deck on the back of the house facing the woods and a grill, which we used 2 nights. It had everything we needed to cook and the coffee pods that they supplied were great! « The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay! »

« The grass was a little high in some areas of the property, the length of the grass right by the house was good though. We loved the house super cozy and we felt right at home, but there were dead bugs everywhere like the property had not been freshened up before we came. They were in the window seals, in the showers, on the tops of furniture, ect. I did try to freshen up a little, just because I have a toddler and did not want her eating them. Other than that, such a great property! »

« Beautiful home. The set up of having 2 bedrooms and bathrooms on the main level (one with walk in shower) and one bedroom and bathroom on the lower level was perfect for my family. The host provided everything all the basics to get us started (paper towels, dishwasher detergent, body wash, shampoo, etc) Great view of the lake. Also, the view of all the stars in the sky very early in the morning was spectacular. Host was very responsive to all needs. »
