The staff at the reception wouldn’t give the right informations. There were 2 days at 5pm there was nothing at all to eat even at the 24/7 sports bar. They are fooling people with fake alcohol. The food was great.

Definitely won’t be returning to this resort. Too many problems with the rooms. Ants, unable to plug in devices due to unsafe outlets, and being unable to flush the toilet was not how I like to be on a resort. Also multiple elevators that did not work. Upon my arrival I had to carry my 40lb luggage all the way to the 3rd floor and upon checking out, I had to do the same. I could go on but I hope you get the point. I won’t be returning to this resort or anything under RIU.

When checking in we got no guidance about where our room was about when dining was what was open upon our arrival time . The front desk was no help our room was not what I booked they had no wash cloths I had to buy some in the gift shop. The resort is definitely not what is displayed on the site. We made the best of our stay I definitely would not stay at this resort again. Our waiter was the only one who I liked and made sure we were ok..

The property itself was very clean, staff are very nice . I just wish the food was better. Little options to pick from and they were bugs on the food when you come down to eat at the buffet but the service was great . I wish the in cleaned the pool more too.

The cleaning supervisor was extemely rude to the point where the front desk manager had to intervene and call her to see why she was so rude. The cleaning staff personally apologized to me for how rude and nasty their supervisor treated me and ask that I not hold it against them. Then someone did a defacated in one of the pool and it made me sick to my stomach. The hotel itself is great and the food was delicious. Overall the trip was ok apart from these incidents.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2024. This is an excellent resort! I had no complaints. Some reviews people leave will deter others but do not listen to them! This resort always has an activity planned, multiple bars, food options were great, staff was friendly and helpful! Just an overall excellent experience and vibe! I love this property and my wife and I will be back! Great job to the staff and Operations team!

It was a great resort! The problem for me was the amount of college students. Aside from that, it was a great vibe. The rooms needed to be cleaned, I noticed that they didn’t clean the floors and shower properly. Tip them, you’ll notice the difference.

This place has the most beautifull beach , Lots of Restaurants so you will never get hungry , and parties are top notch times u will never foget . Just dont eat at the sports bar i would advise , 8 pools , You have areas for relaxation. Not much english is spoken here so be prepeared . DOCTOR is on site which is a big plus . Come with an open mind and carpie diem

Room Key card is not working almost all the time, the pools are dirty, the Elevators are not working sometimes, the stuffs are not well informed about what’s going on about resort entertainments, I saw cockroaches many times and sports bar food area is very dirty.

Food in the buffet was ok. Our AC broke and they didn't fix it. No umbrellas at the beach and nobody came to see if we needed a drink at the beach. Customer service is lacking.

Our A/C unit didn’t work properly & room was hot. We asked for service several times. They smile but ignore it. They don’t answer the phone when you call to complain & we had to walk down to reception which is far to complain in person, elevator was broke down our last night. We had to take 4 flights of stairs. Ice machines were broken on all floors because I had to wrap ice in wet towels to feel any coolness to sleep but woke up & never really slept because of heat. I had 2 rooms. My sisters moved to a new room with better A/C & then they found out that night the toilet was broken & TV didn’t work. We also asked everyone we met if they had the same issue with A/C & everyone said YES….. Staff other than maintenance was great. We paid a lot of money to go there for a nice relaxing vacation & we couldn’t even enjoy our night burning up in our rooms. So if you don’t mind sleeping or not in 80 degrees then great. But if you’re like me who needs a nice cool room to sleep then don’t waste your money or time here.

When I arrived on Thursday and finally found my room, both keys I had been given did not work. I had to go back to reception to get them reset. Over the course of my stay (Thurs to Mon) I had to have my keys reset about 8 or 9 times. On Sunday alone I had to have them reset 3 or 4 times and was VERY irritated by the last time. One person at reception told me that is not normal and shouldn’t happen that often. Additionally, the two water is not safe to drink (no problem - that’s posted clearly) but they only restocked one bottle of water in my room after being there for 2 days. There were other issues that alone would be minor but paired with the absurd key problem and lack of water made them all very frustrating.

We stayed 10 days and went through 3 rooms. Major plumbing issues in the first two, and the third room had no AC. We spent many hours walking back and forth the massive resort to and from the front desk requesting over and over again the same things. The phone didnt work to reach the front desk and most issues went unresolved so long we had to switch rooms. We would of switched again had we stayed any more days. The food was great, but it was infested with ants at Kaori restaurant. I notified staff the buffet had ants in litterally every dish. They acknowledged my concern but nothing was done. We had problems with our keys and had to go to the front desk every time we just wanted to go to bed to get new keys. I had to request anextra pillow 5x before it was provided. The towels are very old amd worn. Like sandpaper. No floor mats, face clothes, and hand towels were svailavle. Also had a hard time getting beach towels. Pools very dirty, and garbage in the bushes everywhere. While the staff was very kind, there were simply not enough of them. Long wait for drinks at all the bars. I would never stay at a Riu Resort again. Never have I ever had to ask and beg so hard and so long for a basic need that even a 1 star can accomodate... let alone a toilet that doesnt back up, or an extra pillow. Many of the requests i submitted were marked "complete" when they had not been to the room to even look. They would say they are sending someone "in 10 minutes" and they never came

Estuve 4 dias 3 noches, tuve los 4 dias cambiando las llaves ya que se desconectaban. La piscina no la limpiaban bien. Se acababan los vasos en las barras y te daban la bebida en copas. Cerveza calientes. No volvería aunque no me costara nada.

So much noise early in the morning throughout the hallways. A lot of banging noises. My coffee machine did not work and I called to have a new one but they never brought it. Riu Macao was way better. Republica is definitely the worse one I’ve been too out of all the times I’ve been to Punta Cana. Never again

The property and ground show lot of decayed and need it lots of attention that was not given. There were dirty dishes with leftover food in hallways and main areas for a while (maybe days). The room was poorly clean and bathroom had lot decay. Nothing like the RIU palaces we have experienced in Mexico.
