« Standard Wyndham breakfast: eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, fruit. Pleasant surroundings. Property was atrium-style hotel with large community area for breakfast with fountain. Liked that our room had an outside deck. Shared with two or three other rooms, but very spacious. Weather was spring/transitional, so thunderstorm and it was nice to stand on deck and watch the system move through. »

« I don't understand the average review rate... My room was strongly smelling cigarette even if it is supposed to be non-smoking room and it was not that clean. At the breakfast there were no more eggs and regular coffee. The only employee I saw seemed too busy to take care of all these details. The AC was so so. I understand it's under renovations but they don't even seem to try to make up for that. On the positive side it was quiet until about 7:30 when the construction workers started. ...

« My credit card was charged despite prepaying. In reviewing the folio emailed to me after checkout, they charged taxes which were already paid and documented as such on my initial booking receipt. There were no incidentals charged to the room, just a billing error on their part. « This room was spectacularly overpriced. I recognize that there was a lot going on in Lawrence this weekend. But, jacking up the rate to over $500 for a $60 motel room was not ok. There was spackle in the bathtub. The lamp socket was hanging off the lamp. The desk chair’s fake leather was peeling and the couch was threadbare. The mattress was as thin as an 80s fouton. Staff were lovely and kind. Room seemed clean despite the disrepair. If it had been $60, it would have been fine. »
