Hôtel ayant besoin d’un bon coup de rénovation.
un hôtel qui ne mérite pas autant d’étoiles. une toute petite réception au milieu d’un salon vite encombré par quelques clients. Avec d’imbriqué dans ce lieu, la salle de petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner. heureusement le personnel est très serviable et très attentif. Avec une jeune réceptionniste d’origine française qui se met en quatre pour vous être agréable ainsi qu’un réceptionniste italien. nous avions commandé une chambre avec deux lits séparés.Modèle de literie très difficile à trouver dans les hôtels au cœur de Londres. Ou bien à des tarifs proche des 1000€ la nuit. finalement nous avons bien eu deux lits séparés de quelques 20 cm et cela devenait inadapté a la configuration de la tête de lit Une literie très inconfortable, qui mériterait d’être remplacée ainsi que les oreillers. notre toute petite chambre en bout de couloir a bénéficié de claquements très bruyants d’une porte«western » empruntée par le personnel le matin et le soir. Nous avons pu obtenir le lendemain une autre chambre. heureusement un peu plus grande à tarification plus élevée, nous a t-on dit, mais qui ne nous a pas été facturée. Merci. attention avec le room service, passé 17 H il n’est plus possible d’avoir des œufs même pas une omelette!. le petit déjeuner est correcte mais c’est sans plus. le deuxième jour nous avons demandé des toasts pour ne pas mangé une viennoiserie toute mole probablement industrielle mais même pas de bonne qualité. merci à tout le personnel pour leur accueil.

Super localisation
Hôtel incroyablement situé, à proximité des principaux sites pour peu de marcher un peu. Pour les autres, la station de métro est à proximité. La literie (lit double) conviendra mieux cependant pour une seule personne. Heureusement que nous sommes deux petits gabarits... . Un coup de jeune lui ferait cependant un bien fou. Si on vous donne la chambre 312, demandez à changer, elle est à côté de l'entrée de service. Les personnes au sommeil léger comprendront.

Great Place
Well located, walking distance to major tourist places, upper-end hotel. Conveniently nearby metro (tube) station. If you don't feel like eating out, the restaurant is also excellent (and affordable). Note that London is a pricey city....

Une bonne surprise
L'hôtel est admirablement bien situé, au sud de Mayfair, à une station de métro (et de bus) de l'hyper centre, et juste en rive des parcs St James et Green Park. Le personnel est extrêmement serviable, et l'hôtel - qui jouxte le Sheraton - est vraiment très calme, très bien tenu (récemment remis à neuf). Le prix est justifié. Et, last but not least, la machine Nespresso et le mini-bar offert contribuent à rendre le séjour encore plus agréable...

We stayed in the townhouse section. The access to the townhouse rooms within the hotel are below average, and I suggest guests access from the street instead. The ceiling height was great, beds comfortable. The bathroom’s in the deluxe rooms need updating, as the furniture has warped wood and shower trays semi yellow from age. The WiFi was very poor, and the hotel did try to improve but failed. The spa is out of bounds to children even after having been told they could attend before making the booking, so this was disappointing. The lounge or 10th floor is a bonus, with wonderful views.

It’s a nice hotel, small in comparison to its competitors but convenient. Something about it is a little eerie, but the staff were kind and the check in was quick and smooth.

The property is in a great location! The heart of Mayfair and surrounding landmarks. The staff were very friendly, the only problem I had was the comfort of the room. It was December and the room was very stuffy and warm. The windows were locked shut and no fresh air could circulate. It was difficult to get good sleep due to the warmth of the room even when it was turned to full cool and high fan. It felt like a central temp for entire building?

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The hotel is in an incredible location, a short walk to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and shopping in Mayfair. The rooms appear to be recently renovated and are just lovely - the bathrooms are a bit dated, it would be good to see them modernised. All of the staff are fantastic, this was some of the best service we have ever experienced in all of our travelling. Super accommodating, will even help you make reservations and purchase tickets to events. We were on our honeymoon and they placed a delightful gift of balloons and chocolates in our room, along with a handwritten card from the team. The attention to detail is exceptional. The Breakfast is excellent, and we loved that we could order it to the room for no extra charge. We also ordered from the restaurant for lunch, and that food was excellent as well. A minor negative is that the coffee is terrible, the pod machine in the room is better - but there is a great Italian style coffee place right next door. Overall, we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Athenaeum.

Water leak and bad management
I stayed here in March and was really excited to stay here again. Checking in was nice and the room was very comfortable. The real issue is that the ceiling leaked water overnight and saturated the carpet and some of our bags. My husband and I spent the morning drying our clothes with the hair dryer, and when we informed management when we checked out. They told us the leak was unfortunate, but didn't really seem to care, and then asked if we wanted to include an additional £15 to with our bill as a tip. So if you're staying in room 201, the ceiling might be leaking. I've stayed in hostels more accommodating than this. Definitely won't be staying here again.

Really lovely stay. Spa was great, quiet, rooms good. I would say I booked a deluxe room and it seemed to look the same as the cheaper alternative? The only difference says it has a king bed and different pillows and a few sq meters more in the room? Stay helpful. Room service never came and they didn’t seem to care or really explain why or apologies, more of a brush off?

Thank you for making our last stop on our 20-day vacation so great! The bed and pillows were by far the most comfortable of anywhere we stayed. The staff was great and so thoughtful on my husband’s birthday. We loved the location, the drinks and the food. So pretty by the park and away from the busy areas but still walkable to everything.

Such a gem in a great location. Their staff are the best part - they are all very friendly and went above and beyond assisting us to make sure our stay is comfortable, starting from the moment we arrived. I will definitely stay with the Athenaeum hotel again next time I’m in London.
