Summary:
Punta Plata 510 in Flamingo is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath, ground-floor condo in front of a sparkling lap pool, a few steps from the beach, with gorgeous views of the ocean, lush mountains and marina.

The Space:
This unit offers direct stairway access to a small, secluded beach, and is within a short walk of Potrero Beach and Flamingo Beach. It overlooks the new Marina Flamingo, allowing guests to watch the yachts and fishing boats coming and going. There are multiple charters here offering fishing, scuba diving and sunset cruises, and the marina is full of nice restaurants and high-end shops.

Two spacious bedrooms offer ample storage and bright windows. One has a queen bed, the other a full bed and a twin. There’s also a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. All three rooms have TVs, and there is air conditioning throughout. The bathroom has been recently updated.

A fully equipped and newly updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, an island that seats three and a table that seats four. The unit also has a washer/dryer.

The Neighborhood:
Flamingo
Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo.
Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences.
A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz.
Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store.
Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.

Getting Around:

For short jaunts to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are a popular choice for convenient mobility. Alternatively, you can opt for a bicycle to navigate the town and its surroundings.

While taxis are available, they may be somewhat challenging to find. Many locals rely on buses for transportation, although there is a limited selection of routes and schedules. Private shuttles are an excellent choice for reaching nearby destinations, and numerous tour companies offer transportation to and from their tours.

Gorgeous view and well-appointed accommodation

We had a wonderful stay. The condo has everything you could possibly need and was very clean and well maintained. The pool was gorgeous and the small beach located just down the hill was lovely and secluded. The location is perfect and there are at least 5 beaches within a twn minutes drive.
