« Very nice ryokan, the staff was professional and polite. The food was amazing! Although the portion is quite big, and we can’t finish. Contrary to the reviews given by other commenters, there’s hot food for dinner and morning. There is free parking spot next to the hotel as well! »

« Room was spacious and very clean, staff very welcoming and friendly, grounds and area around rooms lovely and well kept. The meals were outstanding, tasty, lovely and appetizing in appearance. The staff were so friendly, helpful, yet very professional. Kitty cats and dog were an added attraction Best onsen we've stayed in and very much worth the cost. Yufuin, is small and walkable, fun place. Would love to revisit!!!! »

« The staff were so polite and the accommodation provided a true Japanese experience. The included dinner (kaiseki) and breakfast (Japanese style) wearing our yukatas were true highlights. The family private onsen was also pretty special. »

"Generally, we did not like our experience at this hotel. Bad value for money. When I booked, the website said that the onsen could be used for an additional charge of 300 yens per person. We did not plan on using it but they now make everyone pay a flat fee of 250 yens per person, whether you use it or not. The room is spacious but not comfortable - bed, pillow, cleanliness... The staff was friendly and helpful and the parking was free. On a side note - and I don't take this into account in my rating of this hotel: Yufuin seems like a total tourist trap - we would have skipped it on our road trip if we had known."
