Very cozy quiet and rustic space on a lake.
Enjoy a rustic cabin on the lake watching the wildlife, listening to the birds and just relaxing. Housekeeping rental with all the amenities for longer stays, cookware, BBQ, stove, oven etc. Fishing, kayaking, atv riding or walking nearby trails. Come and have fun!
There are some places you stay that you forget as soon as you leave and others you will remember for a long time. This falls into the latter. It's as described rustic and a life photo. There is a mix of decorations that to me were cool and interesting. WiFi was good, small galleon kitchen, didn't use but looked sufficient. The real winner here is being able to sit right on a river deck, ducks and geese everywhere, frogs playing the banjos, beavers swimming by (never seen a beaver in my life before) and woodpeckers constantly stopping at the feeder. Winston and Susan very helpful. This was a bargain price as well, should have stayed longer, we stayed as a base for Louisburg as very close
Hope to return soon
We had a bit of trouble finding it , clean and cozy there was everything you need and a barbecue on the large deck where you could relax by the water and take in the nature.Susan and Wilson were very nice great little place to stay
Overall a good stay. Very homey feel. Good location not too far from town. We stayed during a very windy few days and it was drafty inside but still warm. So although I imagine that is not the norm, it would be something to consider if travelling with a baby during the winter months. Unit is attached to a garage thatâs used by owner so the space is not 100% private if thatâs a consideration for future guests. Winston and Susie are very nice people and have a well stocked unit.
We had a great stay over Christmas. The space was amazing and had everything you need. Winston was great and quick to respond to any messages. Will definitely stay again.
I have progressing mobility issues. The property is mainly one level, with two tiny steps to the bathroom and a tiny stop to the front door. Shower enclosure, no tub. Rustic, charming property on a small pond with ducks and other wildlife. Owner has done all the renovations to the property himself. The bathroom counter and kitchen counters are slightly raised, which I found very comfortable. Nicely furnished deck with BBQ, which overlooks the duck pond. Patio doors open onto the deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed. I will definitely stay there again.
Everything was good but the unit was very cluttered. Almost every flat surface was covered with bric-a-brac.
Wifi was not working when we were there so had to have our mobiles on roaming
It is a rustic cottage. Everything we needed was on site and the owner very friendly and helpful gave us advice on where to eat. There a nice covered deck and we enjoyed watching the birds eat at the feeder. Also, it's very convenient to the beautiful Highlands of Cape Breton.
We enjoyed our stay. If you love antiques this is the place for you. Found the bed a little small as it was just a double. The hosts were friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable.
We joked that the cabin should have been called bird sanctuary in the nook . Very peaceful and we observed many types of woodland and aquatic birds as well as beavers .
The property is quaint, but for a longer stay there are a few issues. There is a need for more storage spaces for your clothes, and curtains to eliminate the light. The host couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. He even supplied us with canoes for no charge, exceptional!.
Cabin had AC. A beautiful deck with a lake view. Deck had an awning on which you were able to watch ducks during the day and listen to bull frogs and watch beavers swim in the lake in the evening.
Really cute place. Winston and Susan were great. Gave us ideas on what to do and where to go. Met some of their friends that were also very nice. John boiled us some lobster which was perfect. Things to do all over neighbor hood. Would go again. Thanks for everything Winston!
