At least it's close to Downtown Ketchum

Publié le 5 oct. 2015
Les + : Proximity and convenience to downtown Ketchum.
Les - : Basic room maintenance. Staff friendliness.
Situation : Adjacent to downtown Ketchum. Excellent. Shopping dining within walking distance.
Older hotel adjacent and convenient to downtown Ketchum. Rooms small, but OK. Not much attention to upkeep of room - electrical plate chipped; another cracked. Floor stained in one spot. Slideing glass door handle paritally broken from being attached to door frame, but lock mechanism appear to work.. Bathroom door handle mechanism completely missing! Door had hole where handles and mechanism should be. Around hole was fingerprint grease from people pulling door shut by the hole. Also surprised to see that the room did not have a coffee maker. Had to go to the lobby to get coffee, which coffee maker was a small 2-cup model - apparently for the entire hotel! Really? Hotel desk staff was mildly friendly, but did not make me feel that they were pleased to have me. As a first-time guest at this hotel I was disappointed overall and probably will not return. I would recomment it to others only because of the proximity to downtown Kethcum.

Cheap Hotel.....Not very nice.

Publié le 24 août 2015
Les - : Most everything.
Hotel is in disrepair. I would not go in the pool or hot tub......in fact I do not think they were functional during my stay. Pay the money for a nicer place!!!

Oldest property in town

Publié le 21 août 2015
Les + : nothing
Les - : see comments. High price did not warrant accommodations. Web page is deceiving. Don't believe the photos!!
Situation : Emergency room close to treat for mold inhalation and skin rashes due to contact with bedding.
This must be one of the oldest property's in town. Used to be something else but they haven't bothered to change signs in places that were confusing.Decades old furnishings, old TV, dirty carpet, moldy tile in bath plus the ceiling was crumbling and falling down. Holes in the wall behind the door, large gap under the door, exterior was dirty and un kept, pool was too cold to attempt to swim and the hot tub was just scary. Who knows what you would catch in that thing.. Worst experience I can remember.

Location is great, the facility, in disrepair.

Publié le 14 août 2015
Les + : Location!
Situation : You can bike or walk to almost everything in Sun Valley from this local. Hiking, biking, dining, horseback riding, shopping, skiing - you name it!
In Sun Valley for the Summer Symphony - this property was in a great location but all the building, walls, rooms - sad condition. The rooms are very worn and weary. Would not recommend this hotel.

dont expect too much

Outdated. No frills, but clean and great location. Don't bother with the pool/hot tub. Both are cold and dirty. Staff was excellent and it was as clean as it could be since it was so outdated.

Close to town and shops

Publié le 10 août 2015
The room was clean and quiet but severely outdated with broken items. Old box TV, no towel racks to hang wet towels, no full length mirror, dangling light fixture from ceiling that seemed like a table should have been under it, light above bed had no switch to turn on, security bar on door was broken, art work on walls was faded and old. And a ratty old envelope on table labeled "housekeeping tips"....

Nice staff; Room overpriced for ammenties

Publié le 9 août 2015
Les - : They could re-open the onsite restaurant since there is nothing open in town after 10pm to eat. Update the bathrooms and add coffee makers in the room
Situation : ALL the restaurants and groceries stores are closed by 1 0 pm so plan accordingly
The pool and sauna was unclean. I would not let my daughter swim in it. The on-site restaurant was closed down and there was no other choices in town since all eateries and even the grocery store closes after 10pm (unbelievable). Even the lobby is closed after 11pm and they make sure of this by closing down the elevators from 11pm to 7am each night. The ice makers were not working so you have to get ice in the lobby(during open hours). There was NO coffee maker in our hotel room. The first morning we were there my mother had to make the coffee in the lobby.

OMG do not stay here!!!

Publié le 3 août 2015
Les + : The fact that I had a place to crash after my bike rides, and that it was in Ketchum.
Les - : Tear the place down and start over.
Situation : The location is stellar, right in the downtown area of Ketchum with plenty of activities and good food around.
The reception area was fine and the gentleman at the desk was friendly and courteous but that is extent of anything good that I have to say about this place. It is run down, dilapidated and dirty. The very first thing we noticed upon entering our room (D27) was a hole in the wall where the door handle was striking the wall due to a lack of any type of stopper. The shower head was being held on with electrical tape, the A/C wouldn't function properly and there was a stain on the curtain sheer that was either blood or chocolate, not sure which. The pool and hot tub have not been maintained, the safety gates to keep kids out have been removed, there was debris in both the pool (which was NOT heated AT ALL.) The "hot tub" was lukewarm, and only half the jets worked. While we hanging out by the "hot tub" the staff was trying to deal with an issue in the pump house when all of a sudden someone burst out in language fit for a sailor (I am so very pleased that my 7 and 9 year old were privy to that out burst.) We later learned that the person responsible for the outburst was actually the hotel owner! The property is unkempt, there are ladders and other items scattered about the place...all in all a very unpleasant experience.

Bellemont Hotel did not meet expectations.

Publié le 3 août 2015
Les + : Nothing.
Les - : Customer service, room condition
For the price we paid ($155/night) we expected a nice hotel, something much better than the $77/night option in the same town. Be sure to read the fine print. The Bellemont does not offer free cancellation as most hotels do. We were charged 50% of the total hotel cost for the first night of our stay since we couldn't make it due to a funeral. You have to cancel a full week in advance to get a full refund. We called to inform them that we wouldn't be there on Thursday. When we arrived Friday, we were given a room that smelled like cigarette smoke and had a huge 3 x 5 foot hole in the ceiling! The water pressure in the shower was very low, just a trickle. When we complained about the room, we were informed that we were getting a bad room because we hadn't shown up the night before. Next time we will stay in the $77/ night hotel rather than stay here again.
