The room needs to be updated. There was rust on the refrigerator as you enter the room that is the first thing you see. It was clean but everything is dated and could be refurbished. The hotel staff was great and accommodating. It is on the ocean and close to restaurants etc.

back to my childhood beach visits

Publié le 6 nov. 2016
Les + : staff very friendly convenient location quiet very reasonably priced
Les - : No hot tub My girlfriend who had a room next to ours has trouble with stairs, and there is no elevator.
Situation : lots of local restaurants nearby, as well as shopping
The Tahitian reminded me so much of hotel days of my childhood. Yes, it has some age on it, but at 65 myself I appreciate old things! It is very well maintained, lots of flowers, tables and chairs by pool and on the decking, swing set for the little ones. Our king room was very comfy, with full kitchen, table and chairs, recliner, cabinet for storage of food items. Drawbacks if one has poor knees would be the stairs, no elevator, but we really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and watching the sky and water. Pool was too cold for me, but ocean was refreshing. No hot tub. A bit of a hike to the water's edge, but it is so worth it, beautiful clear water, and the sand is well maintained by the city (raking of seaweed/debris weekly). We actually extended our stay one night, staying all week, and didn't want to leave then.

Disappointed - old and worn out

Publié le 17 oct. 2016
Les + : Location was good.
Les - : Everything except the location.
This hotel (my room at least) is old and in need of updating and decorating. For the price I paid I was not expecting the Ritz, but between the ripped and worn carpets, curtains with holes and kitchen cabinets and counter tops that look about 50 years old it was not very appealing. Because of how old everything was they looked grimy and dirty. The door to my room was always sticking and hard to open and lock, the TV in the bedroom was broken, I reported it and they changed it, went out the next day and someone changed it back to the broken one!? It may be that other rooms are better, but to me it was not really acceptable. The room seemed clean, but on closer look, places behind tables etc were not, layers of dust and grime on the wall sockets. The bathroom was very old, the fixtures and fittings really in need of updating.

Nice hotel on beach

Publié le 11 oct. 2016
Situation : Walked to the Waffle House for breakfast a block away. In the evening, we went to John's Pass for dinner and walked the boardwalk. Loved it!
Older hotel but room was very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed - full size refrigerator, stove top and an oven, sink, dishes, pots and pans. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the two chairs right outside the room that were facing the beach. Hotel even provided a beach towels in the room. It was a long walk to the beach but the hotel was well worth the money.
