Dated property; nice staff

Publié le 20 sept. 2016
Les + : inexpensive, available, and along my route
Les - : could use a remodel and more attentive cleaning staff
Situation : just off the highway
I arrived late in the evening and while there was a sign at the driveway entrance, I didn't see a sign (at least at eye level) giving the name of the hotel. I was a little confused since on the wall behind the receptionist, it said Coach House Inn. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, giving me directions to the fast food establishment I was looking for. The suite was spacious, but the furniture was tired and dated. There was dust in the corners, so it appeared the cleaning staff wasn't taking much time on the upkeep. The continental breakfast was adequate to get me back on the road, but more fruit choices than just red delicious apples would have been nice.

What Decor?

Publié le 5 sept. 2016
This hotel needs a SERIOUS decor upgrade. The hotel was neat but cleanliness was lacking. It is a gorgeous space but I wish the owners would invest some into the decor. The current theme is from 1974 at least. Great value but it wouldn't be my first choice in the future.

Simple and clean

Publié le 5 sept. 2016
For an overnight stay while on a cross country drive, this hotel was just what we needed. It was simple, but clean. Had hot water, continental breakfast, and a friendly and competent staff.

Dirty and gross bathrooms. Decling hotel.

Publié le 2 août 2016
Les + : Beds were firm.
Les - : Clean and repair, clean again.
Situation : Same as the other hotels so, stay at one of them.
Hair on sink, floor and in tub. Mold, not mildew, mold on ceiling. Bathroom door didn't close corrctly and was grimy from hand prints. This was not a one time cleaning broblem. This is a lack of proper training on how to clean a room. Carpet in room and hall had debris and needed to be vacuumed. Hotel is in need of many tiny repairs and appears to be declining. First floor hotel bathroom was equally gross with trash on the floor, dirty sink, walls needing repairs, caulking by someone that has no idea how to caulk. How can a hotel let the main reception bathroom get this bad? Left over door trim and boards, trash and debris with exposed nails sticking out piled up on the breakfast room floor for the kids to play with. A general look of a lack of concern. The worst part was the response from the staff. I told the front desk person about the room and he just looked at me and kinda said "oh". Not even saying sorry. There are so many other choices in the area, he alone will end this hotel.

No Hot Water

Publié le 18 juil. 2016 sur Hotels
The hotel is okay for a one night stay. We did get an early check in as I asked but it was kind of a hassle with the front desk. When I booked the room, I asked for an early check in. But on the morning we were to check in I called HOURS in advance to see if they had received the note about an early check in. The lady seemed a little stressed that I was asking but did say she could get us in two hours earlier than the normal check in which is 3pm. The layout of the room is nice it has a separate room with a loveseat, desk, recliner, and a tv. The bedroom area also had a tv which was nice in case there are multiple guests who have different taste in television. The bathroom was decent. However, my boyfriend got up the morning we were leaving to take a shower and could not get the water to warm up. He left the water running for more than 5 minutes and it was still ice cold. For $80 I would have expected hot water. There was also some water damage on the ceiling in the bedroom area that looked gross. Overall, I don't think that we will stay here again. The free continental breakfast just left you hungrier than you were when you went down. I had previously stayed at this hotel before it was America's Best Value and it was much better back then. I was quite upset with how much the whole building had been let go. This could be a beautiful hotel if it had the right updates. I wouldn't mind paying more for the room with the right updates and HOT water.

Needs a remodel and needs to close until it's done

Publié le 12 juil. 2016 sur Hotels
This hotel needs to be taken off the Hotels.com site. We were moved to a room on the very end of the building. The room was old, outdated, not the cleanest, and the wifi signal didn't reach to the end of the building so didn't work. After a full day of traveling none of us even took a shower because the bathroom was gross. The only thing halfway passable was the breakfast and it was just okay. Stay away.

Alright for the money but by no means nice

Publié le 5 juil. 2016 sur Hotels
The staff was extremely friendly and the lobby was nice and spacious. It looked as though the motel used to be very nice, but a lack of general maintenance has turned it into kind of a dump. The room was a suite which was nice, but everything was old and dingy. Old tube TVs that would lose picture when I walked on the floor but miraculously came back when I sat down. The bathroom floor had a collection of hair...some old, some new and it made for quite a game of guess who stayed here. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. A fresh coat of paint, a good scrubbing and some new flooring would've made a world of difference. In the price range, I have stayed in worse, but I would not choose to stay here again.

Passing Through

Publié le 3 juil. 2016 sur Hotels
Kind of an odd place ... looks like it use to be a retirement community; but it did have lots of room. We were only passing through so was good for that.
