« We only stayed overnight as at a wedding at Hodsock Priory, this is an ideal hotel for the venue as only few minutes away. The rooms are lovely, very clean and modern, I particularly liked the mirrors in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, good choices available and just what we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We want to go back and try the evening meals another time. Definitely recommend the hotel though. »

« This is not a 4star hotel as described, it’s just a tired old pub that has some accommodation. The ‘deluxe’room that we had booked had stained carpets,sofa and cushions and was very basic. The two small bath towels and one hand towel provided were frayed. The menu is very basic in the pub. I had a pizza that was inedible as it tasted mouldy and looked horrible. « Be aware that there is a £5 per night parking charge which, to be honest is just money making for the sake of it as no justification. Also best avoided for a family break due to every night we were there The outside tables were full of people drinking, being loud, foul mouthed and smoking. The first morning there was constant loud banging of doors for about 3 hours. The room was a decent size and reception staff were helpful when they are around. « Absolutely charming! The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. »
