The pictures do not even come close to reflecting the actual condition of the rental property. I wish I could share the photos I’ve taken, but since I can’t, I’ll try to describe the property. Walking into the house you must walk up a small rickety staircases of a house where other people live. The doorways to other portions of the house appear to be sealed off with foam padding and covered with nailed/staples shower curtains. There’s no telling how secure this is, but considering how easily one can hear others moving throughout the house, I doubt it’s secure. Upon reaching the kitchen, there was dirt everywhere. Even worse, the kitchen sink cupboard appeared to be falling apart and the stove turned out to be a small hotplate on a folding camp table. The bathroom was about the same condition, except there was also a large hole covered by an unsecured small flimsy grate that was hidden from initial observation by a laundry basket. Despite these issues, the worst portion was dealing with the owner. Although I offered to pay for first two nights, I asked for a refund thereafter. I honestly wasn’t comfortable staying in the location. He refused and it turned negative after I told him I would accurately review the property so others would not be duped. Bottom line, this was the single worst location I have ever rented through VRBO. It was bad enough that I moved out after one night and stayed at a hotel instead despite already paying for the location and the owner refusing any reimbursement.
