I like the surrounding areas. The room was terrible, the toilet did not work. The room is located too far from the dining facilities. There is too many stairs to climb to get to the room. I will never stay at this hotal again.

The female staff was extremely rude!! There is no elevator I had to drag my luggage up those flight of stairs.They had people fighting in the restaurant during dinner.There was an old couple in front of me that same night that had roaches crawling on their table in their food.bathe complained to one of the lady servers and she tried to kill a few of them with the rag that they use to wipe the table SMH.The man told her he needed to speak with the manager and a man came over while they complained he looked so nonchalant like what’s the big deal !This place is a joke never again

The problem was making arrangements for airport transportation… spoke with service representative on 2 different day with us not having concrete information, about our departure to the airport. However on our the department day staff was very helpful in getting us on a bus to the airport.

Rooms are outdated and needs a lot of work done. Bed was broken and when we talk to front desk about it some one brought a small bed in the room without taking out the old one which took up a lot of space in the room. no trash bags in the bins even after house keeping would clean. No shower gel in the shower. Toilet in room doesn’t work well, have to flush several times. Hallways and walls were dirty. Dinning areas were hot no air conditioner or they weren’t working well. Staff was overall good and welcoming. Food was good most times. Pool is very small and crowded. Hotel definitely needs a lot of work. Also there was no room service or elevators which were inconveniences considering all walking to get any where

I recently booked a 4 night stay at Riu for our vow renewal this pass week. Its was a disappointment. I will never stay here again. The room smelled old & musty, they don’t have room service. They didn’t have me listed as a bride so they never upgraded the room. Don’t get me started on the cups which they take and reuse over and over. I went to get water in the am and the cup had a rum residue smell ! How gross. Dining was limited it was also my husband’s birthday. We arrived Wednesday at 11am and the restaurants were already booked for Friday which I was told I could book him a dinner for up to 8 people. All the drinks were watered down . There is absolutely nothing to do on this resort at 6pm even the pools close at 6. They do have shows for kids & some for adults which were just ok. We had to leave the resort in order to din together , they ran out of wash cloths. (wedding guests were very upset, I was so embarrassed that i selected this resort. Now the good stuff- MS Dionne the wedding specialist was a breath of fresh air, very kind & helpful and whenever she goes when the close down I’d recommend her a 100xs to help in an island wedding. Type transportation never picked us up to go back to the airport & the resort charged us $120 to get back. Oh and the chip’s and beef patties in the sports bar were STALE & OLD! The buffet food was dry and just blah, the jerk hut was very good and most of the staff were extremely pleasant and kind. I’m never staying here again EVER!!!!

It seemed like most staff did not want to be there. There were a few friendly staff, one was TJay at the lobby bar and Damien our taxi driver. They were awesome…. Cant say that for the rest. We waited 3 hours for our room, they did decorate the room for my son 16th Birthday but other than that, rooms need upgrades, shower smelled HORRIBLE, resort was very boring , no beachside service, no room service, no restaurant choices, no entertainment and the whole resort closed by 11pm. If you are hungry after 10pm, good luck. It was not welcoming at all.

This is a more quiet version of the RUI Reggae/ Montego Bay. Still the basics but the Jamaican food was some of the most authentic I’ve tasted (I’m Jamaican) that chef did his thing - the American options were okay. THE PATTIES - my goodness. Beach and water are nice and located on the 7 mile beach strip. Staff was great and pleasant. Such a great experience after a terrible one staying at Grand Palldium

Our family had a wonderful time at Riu Negril. We celebrated our Twins 9 birthday at Riu and they had a fantastic time. Food, pool and beaches were excellent. My favorite place to hangout was the pool bar, love it. We also enjoyed long walks along the beach.

Awesome staff and good shows. They have a taxi service on site and a few RIU guest only excursions both of which were convenient, professional, highly recommended. We did a catamaran cruise and snorkel to Rick’s Cafe which was a lot of fun. Food was not good at all. If you want some decent food, I’d recommend making reservations for the restaurants on site right away. They book up fast. The facilities could use some updating. Issues with the toilets not flushing well.

We didnt get to enjoy any dining other then the buffet. There was a roach in the dining area and the staff from the adult swimup bar was unattentive

Beddings and towels are washed and dried according to the correct temperature limits as set out by general hygiene instructions.Though we manage a proper fumigation program for all our areas, it is unfortunate that we are unable to control insects at 100%.Due to the warm weather and the location of our resort, which is surrounded by vegetation, it is possible that insects can enter our facilities. Our lovely staff work to keep them under control, since our grounds have extensive garden areas. We fumigate continuously all areas to keep insects away from our grounds. The food is alright but not that great. I think most people wouldn’t complain. The most annoying thing was my room was all the way at the last building so it’s a bit of walk. Pools were nice. Vibe is nice with evening and night time entertainment.

Just returned from a 5 day 4 night vacation with my friends. Had an amazing time with them and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The animators Scott, Byrant, and Romeo were alot of fun especially during water aerobics, the adult games and beach volleyball. The bartenders Paul, Olena, Tyerese were extremely accommodating and pleasant at all times. This was my second time and would definitely go back.

This was an old building which needs some updating to be done. Shower was not good and there was no pressure. WiFi was always disconnecting and didn’t work throughout the resort. Buffet food was decent but couldn’t get any reservations to restaurants which means we had to go buffet all the time. There was no premium liquor, not even Tito’s which was disappointing. Overall it definitely needs many improvements.

The service was very slow everywhere except at the bars. The bartenders were great and the entertainers were the highlight of the resort! They were friendly and awesome and made time to get to know you. The internet is terrible and you lose it if you walk five feet. The most frustrating thing is the keys keep losing their “charge” and you have to walk very far to “recharge” them while the desk staff is not very friendly about it. The food was very average except for the steakhouse, it was good. Signing up for the catamaran took 2 hours and the people signing you up didn’t seem to care. They start closing down the buffet 30 minutes before the closing time so if you don’t get to breakfast early, you get no eggs,no bacon, potato’s, water etc. I would recommend spending the extra money to stay at the newer one just down the road where they probably focus more on customer care and service.

i didnt like that you had to make reservations for the five restarant and they are all full on the first day you get there and full for the hole time i was there. and they was a shooting on the beach with the local people on the beach and someone got shoot.

i didnt like that i couldnt make reservations for dinner at any of the 5 restarant and the one that i was finally able to make. the restarant told me that i didnt have a reservation for it and they couldnt make an exception like i was lying about it. and one day on the beach there was a shooting on the beach with locals and a local got shoot. but other than that the hotels is ok. free food and drinks,beach cant beat that.
