Nous avions réservé au St. James mais avons été transférés sans préavis au White Orchid en prétextant qu'il s'agissait d'un "upgrade" - ce qui n'était pas le cas. La chambre était de qualité inférieure aux attentes et localisée dans le complexe le plus bruyant puisqu'à proximité du divertissement de soirée et des restaurants - exactement ce que nous souhaitions éviter en réservant au St. James. Le service de check-in à l'arrivée était vraiment en deçà de nos attentes - nous avons dû attendre plus d'une heure pour que ce soit notre tour - pour se faire dire que la chambre n'était pas prête (étrange vu la politique de l'hôtel qui prévoit qu'il y ait 24 heures entre les clients). Et je comprends difficilement qu'un complexe qui se présente comme un 5* n'ait que quelques transats déboîtés à la plage et à la piscine. À défaut de se lever avant 7h pour aller réserver ses transats, aucune chance! Finalement, la nourriture n'était pas vraiment à la hauteur d'un 5* - et ne vous laissez pas prendre par le restaurant japonais qui est le seul où il faille réserver - l'"expérience culinaire" dure, en tout et partout, 50 minutes, de l'arrivée jusqu'au dessert. On a été bousculés du début à la fin. Le meilleur du resort: les ceviches du Seaside Grill (le délice quotidien!), les cocktails du Lobby Bar, le café jamaïcain de fin de soirée au Coco Café et le gym, très bien équipé pour un gym d'hôtel et plutôt peu fréquenté! De belles vacances néanmoins!

This resort is oldest and not really well being. One week in the room 3231, I had to managed - Bathtube : out of service, claim several time for a maintenance guy but never came. Air conditioning : flooding Door entrance : Battery as to be replaced every 2 days Safe : out of service Big hole on the whole, I was able to touch cables . I did sent a formal complaint to the general manager from this hotel - M escouada but he had always refused to meet me !

The property was quiet and relaxing. The beach was beautiful. But the food and service were not on par with other Secrets resorts I have visited. I have been to Secrets Akumal and Secrets Cap Cana. Those resorts were more modern. The food was consistently good and the service was much better. I don't know that I would return to Secrets St. James.

It is a nice location. The ocean was beautiful but limited beach area. There are small areas but can't go on a long beach walk because of rock walls or security restrictions. Food was average. Long waits for dinner.

Location and views were great, staff were very friendly and helpful specially the manager Jason who helped us a lot, it was an excellent experience staying at Secret St. James and we will certainly go back there again. The only downside was the WiFi as i had to work through my stay and the connection was not very reliable!

Our stay was great! Everything was very smooth. We upgraded to the preferred side and had a pool dedicated just to that side which was nice if you didn’t want to be around the music from the other pool. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I liked my butler. But My rooms door was broken, The toilet didn’t work and there was no hot water. I had to bring it up to managements attention several times and I booked vip the best room in the resort.

The resort was very nice. We stayed at the preferred side with an ocean view, and the view was really beautiful. The preferred access also allowed us to visit the breathless hotel and rooftop bar, which was also stunning. The staff were friendly, some more than others. The food options were good- buffet style breakfast and lunch and some restaurants with a preset menu for lunch and dinner. The entertainment team did a good job and it was nice to have activities during the day and evening. Despite the recent US travel ban, we felt completely safe. We also went off the resort for an excursion and didn’t feel worried. You just need to exercise usual travel precautions such as being aware of your surroundings, not being too flashy, and arranging transportation with known people. All in all, we had a great time and would return.

We booked the preferred club so we were able to use all 3 properties that were there. The pools and beaches were gorgeous.
