Good for the airport but needs some investment

Airport is less than 10 minutes by taxi if the roads are free of traffic and the staff were friendly and helpful but the Tamarind badly needs a refurbishment. After being shown how I had to reset a circuit breaker 7 times on a one night stay to keep it working after a remote control for it had been found for us in another room. The were two ceiling fans, one of which was hard to control with the wall mounted knob and seemed to speed up noisily after what appeared to be power surges, while the other offered little and would only start if given a push while standing on the bed. The mattresses were thin and more hard than firm and the double bed turned out to be two singles pushed together. The stains on the wall where people have rested their heads while sitting up in bed (watching TV?) were unwelcome too. The toilet seat was coming loose as was the light over the washbasin and the shower a very old fashioned and basic type that proved awkward to adjust. In truth even though it's VERY convenient for the airport I doubt we would stay there again, though I would add that the staff seemed to be doing the best with what they have and were helpful.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed.

Amazing how things can be mismanaged...no responsibility,no accountability No service,you have to eat what the staff give you,at their covenience When we went to restaurant, staff were eating tea snacks and watching TV....being a general manager of a resort myself,was SHOCKED. Surprised to see company like Expedia enlisting such HORRIBLE RESORT.

The Stay is very poorly staffed & poor facilities

The only benefit is the stay is quite close (10-15 min) away from Calicut airport. Otherwise, the facility is very poorly staffed and has a very average stay. In house phones do not work. Room is not clean and worms/insects were noted in the rooms.

Hotel is good for those comming with own vehicle.

Hotel is very far from the main road and not readily traceable, however, staff are good but options for food is very less, even not manageable from nearby.

Situated in a very friendly area

I can highly recommend this hotel. The staff is fantastic and very much serviceminded, I think they will do anything to make your stay comfortable. I only used the hotel for one night, but sure will book it again.

wozu ist das Hotel da? schlechte Lage! zu Teuer!

die Klimaanlage hatte nur kurz funktioniert, danach gar nicht mehr! Service ist ein Fremdwort dort. es schien, als wären wir die einzigsten Gäste dort. wir hatten niemanden in den drei Tagen gesehen. In diesem Ort gibt es auch nichts besonderes zu sehen, also eher ungeeignet für touristen.

We stayed here awaiting the plane from Calicut to Mumbai. It is a government hotel. It has a great view. The staff could not do enough for us and the price is very reasonable.

PICTURESQUE VIEW OF GOD'S OWN COUNTRY

The location of the Hotel is well appreciated. A very nice location, close to the airport and close to areas where basic necessities are required. The hotel was well maintained with clean rooms. Only the Room Service needs to be looked into with more items on the menu. All in all a very comfortable stay.

Good and simple budget hotel - value for money

We stayed here overnight before leaving to Wayanad. I was quite apprehensive about the place but since every decent hotel in Kozhikode was booked and quite far from the airport, we had to book in this place. But frankly speaking, the hotel didn't disappoint. It is a budget hotel, so you won't find all the comforts that you would expect from a 3 or 4 star hotel. Just 3 kms from the airport, no hassle in reaching the place. The hotel rooms were quite clean, the staff was helpful. The location of the hotel is on a hill so a good view of the Kozhikode airport will be a nice sight. No disturbance from any other guests or the staff. The place is also quite safe. The food here is very normal and bland, so plan accordingly. The only problems we faced were the frequent power cuts. They had the generator on immediately but the AC doesn't work on genset. Overall, I would say it is a value-for-your-money hotel and you can stay here if you are looking at decent accommodation close to the airport.

KTDC Tamarind Kondotty - convenient for airport

The hotel is advantageously situated near the airport, on a hill with great views and little noise or disruption. The hotel itself is well-designed and relatively clean, with efficient air-con systems and ventilators. The isolated location means that one has to take the evening meal at the hotel, which is bad news: there were only 3 items available from the menu during our stay (chapatti, veg curry and chicken curry), and they were served cold. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful although we were inconvenienced by them late at night, when they turned up the TV in the lounge to a rather high volume and had the lights switched on on the terrace just outside our room for a long time, seemingly for some friends of theirs. They did oblige when asked, however. Overall, it was a bland but OK hotel. Next time, I would ask for a room further away from the reception.
