The island is a summertime tourist mecca. However in the Winter there are only a few hundred permanent residents on the island. The only reliable transportation this time of year is to fly, that is weather conditions permitting. Beautiful to be there if you don't mind the cold and snow.

« We loved our stay at Acorn Cottage! The cottage was easy to get to, and it was in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was clean with just enough space for our family of four (our 4-legged family member included). There's a beautiful view over looking the lake from the back deck area. « This place was perfect for our little family of 4. It is right on the water and my kids really enjoyed swimming and playing on the dock. The marina is just a few minute walk from the cottage. We were able to walk there for ice-cream and fishing (we of course asked the people that worked there for permission and went after they were closed).The host/owners are so kind they brought treats for the kiddos and even lend bikes to my kids to use while we were there. « Beautiful location on a lake with a great view. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. A washer and dryer were also provided with laundry supplies. Two bedrooms downstairs with a bathroom. Huge bedroom upstairs that shares the downstairs bathroom. A really nice bedroom was added to the back of the garage with a full bathroom/laundry room. Dollar General and two restaurants are just down the road. The communication with the host was great. We enjoyed our stay! »
