Spring Break

Publié le 21 mars 2016
For 209.00 a night it was an average place. Honestly we believed it would be a above average with it being a Marriott. For 50.00 more we could of stayed at a newer and nicer hotel but we were there only for one night

Close to Moody Gardens

Les + : comfy beds
Les - : noise level in hotel, condition of sofa in room (seam ripped)
Springhill Suites has comfortable rooms, with separate sitting area. And for the price, and a less expensive option in hotels....this is a good place for families and those traveling who will only spend time basically sleeping at the hotel. There is a good amount of noise from the nearby highway, so not a quiet place to stay. Also walls thin, so much noise within the hotel itself (doors slamming, people coming and going, talking)... The king size beds are very comfortable, and bath area large, with separate area for shower (tub w/shower) and vanity area. Also nice to have frig and microwave in room. The sofa is very still and not very comfortable, and ours had a seam ripped out, so room not maintained that well. We had to change rooms as tv only had a very fuzzy picture on major network stations. Complimentary breakfast good, and managed nicely with replenishment often. Changed hot items each day so that was nice. Close to Moody Gardens, but not close to seawall. But if you are watching your budget, this hotel is a decent value for the money. And if you don't mind the large amt of road noise, the hotel has free parking, indoor pool - which looks small & we did not use. Compared to other Marriott Springhills we've stayed, as well as other 3 star hotels, this one should be rated 2.5 stars The hotel staff was very professional and accommodating.

Hotel Room

Publié le 1 mars 2016
Les + : It was next to a lake of water..not beach, however the beach was about 5 mins away. Breakfast was good, except those patty eggs, scrambled is better.
Les - : Only the layout of the room.
Situation : Walk to the lake of water early in the morning, maybe after breakfast. Drive to the beach, a carnival on the pier, rainforest café was fun.
I would not have made reservation at this hotel if I knew there was no privacy between the bedroom and living room area. My husband had no privacy away from our daughter and friend. There was only one TV to share..not good when you have teenagers that watches different shows then adults..Bathroom area was wide open. JUST not a good hotel room layout if you need privacy. Once I found out that there was no privacy in the room, I really wanted to cancel, but we had plans in place. Nice hotel for someone that do not need any privacy.
