« Well thought out cottage design very well presented but testing for size - just an extra 5% of space would yielded 20% increase in convenience and enjoyment. Hosts and neighbours are excellent. Parking is unusual but workable. As a couple (one Aussie and one Aussie born in Yorkshire) we really enjoyed our time at this cottage and would highly recommend it. Walk to village is 10 minutes and huge number of attractions within 40 mins. »

« We stayed here to attend a nearby wedding.. 4 generations together . Cottage is fantastic, equipped with everything you could possibly need . Beautiful garden where we played croquet. Ages ranged from 9-93. Such amazing hosts, listening to John’s history was fascinating. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Mum didn’t attempt the spiral staircase but was able to climb the exterior staircase to the lounge . If you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet, get away this is your place. »

« Lovely little cottage. We booked here as it was close to Cannon Hall Farm, Hall and gardens, which was the main purpose of our visit -10mins drive up the road! We travelled over 4 hours to get there.Parked on the road, small driveway to other properties you could probably stop outside to unpack if needed but we walked up from the road a few metres.We had all we needed for our stay - pots, pans utensils, towels, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc. after reading the reviews I took some extra...

« Spent 4 nights in this lovely, comfortable and well equipped property. Great location with walks from the door and well placed to explore the Holme Valley, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Coal Mining Museum and for wandering off to the Peak District. Also convenient for Huddersfield. Quiet location minutes from Almondbury where there are shops, pubs cafe and also from Farnley Tyas and it’s pub. Note: the property is on a bus route to Huddersfield. Would we stay again? Definitely »

« Loved our stay at Appleshine! Magnificent spot with views looking out to Castle Hill and surrounding area. Rolling hills and local farms making up a picturesque scene. Cottage is small but has everything you need. It is furnished tastefully and feels like home. Beds are comfortable and linen is crisp. We hope to enjoy another stay in the not too distant future.
