« Too expensive for what you get. It looks like they have started the refurbishment and have stopped in the middle. The bathroom was old and dingy and could do with some cleaning. The breakfast was poor. The lady at reception didn't explain anything (for instance, how do you get to the spa). There were literally no signs in the whole hotel (no signs to reception, for room numbers, to the lift...). Get by by yourself! The seaviews from the room were excellent. »

« Lovely place to stay out of town and surrounded by beautiful gardens. There is a bus about 50m away that goes to York. Great place to stay and explore the area, then come home to an excellent spa and gym. Only grizzle is that the pillows weren’t great and I think if you’re staying there you should get a spa towel without paying for it! Make sure to book any spa treatment or restaurant early as they book out. »

« The bar area was lovely and it was a very nice breakfast. The corridors to the room we were in seemed a bit tired and the sensored lights didn't work when we were going back to our room. The room was fine, just very warm. Staff were a bit slow to clear the outside patio and breakfast area. Is in a great area. »
