Great escape

I loved the resort. Location is a bit far from town/the rest of the island - would recommend car rental (60USD/day) instead of taxi (taxi/ride from airport is ~70-90USD). My room had a very stale/smokey smell but I'm sure if I requested a move they would have gladly obliged.

Best Resort on the island

I thought this resort was beautiful and the vibe is so relaxing! Spent a lot of time by the beach and the pool. The staff are very nice! My favorite was Jaymy, MY bartender. I didn't allow anyone else to make my drinks lol. He was so nice and made my drinks just the way I wanted them. AND he remembered my name which is big for me - shows that he listens and really wants to offer that personal service. I gave the resort a 4 instead of a 5 because there were about 3 stray cats that were always around - mainly in the restaurants, which grossed me out! I just don't enjoy eating and a cat brushing up against my legs at the same time - ew! Resort said they didn't know what to do but since there were other guests who really did not like them around either, I think the resort should take that into consideration. I was also not happy that the resort charges $5 per day per device for WiFi in the guests rooms. WiFi should be free for the entire resort - this should be law! :D Otherwise, I had a great time and was happy that I chose to stay at the best resort in the island (according to all the locals).

Resort de lujo con playa privada.

Les + : La privacidad del acceso, playa, los jardines, el entorno, las vistas al mar, en suma todo.
Les - : El servicio de desayuno. Tardan mucho en tomarte el número de la habitación y sentarte en la mesa, a veces hasta 15 minutos.
Situation : Alejada del centro, cercana a restaurantes fuera del complejo Jan Thiel, 10 min. El hotel tiene golf y una marina.
El hotel está situado en un extremo de la isla a unos 45 minutos del Aeropuerto y a media hora de Willemstaad, Se accede a través de una lujosa entrada y carretera privada desde la que se ven algunos hoyos del campo de golf. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y cómodas. Tiene 4 Restaurantes, Shore el más "lujoso" con una zona de japonés Yun, uno más internacional Medi y uno situado cerca de las piscinas Shore. Tiene dos amplias piscinas con hamacas y camas balinesas. La playa está muy bien, es amplia y delimitada por un pantalán por lo que no pueden entrar peces grandes, hay mucho espacio con lo que aunque haya mucha gente no te da la sensación de que está llena. Todas las zonas del hotel son amplias los jardines estupendos, con un paseo al lado del mar que recomiendo. Dan clases de yoga frente al mar tres dias a la semana. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Les + : the boats passing through
Les - : change the location, and be way less expensive
the bead was so noisy, each time u turn and very uncomfortable. The prices at the bar way to the roof $12.5 just an icy drink. Not to mention the bad smell at Italian suppose little market All the cans and refrigerated drink were way too expensive surpassing even Bermuda(if you ever been there) $10 a glass of bad red wine.

Situation : The beach is the only nearby thing
Nice, Luxury and Modern.. it's a great place to go and just relax.. !! Would go again, any time soon ..

The hotel facilities are great. Point for improvement: called the front desk twice on different moments of the day, nobody picked up the phone.

Les + : The hotel itself is very nice. Clean, luxury type hotel.
Les - : Food selection extremely limited. Medi prices are "pricey"!
Situation : The town and other attractions and tours are a great distance from the hotel. Diving and water activities on property. No nightlife there.
The Santa Barbara is likely one of the "best" resorts as far as the infrastructure is concerned! I would have otherwise ranked it a four. If you are a couple or a family or even a single who is traveling to "get away" from it all and your idea is to simply relax at your resort and enjoy the "luxuries" that the resort has to offer, meditate even, I would rank Santa Barbara excellent! This resort will be perfect for you! However, if you are going to Curacao to explore the island, go into Willemstad, engage in the rich culture of the island, engage in activities, I need you to understand that Santa Barbara is located on a plantation far away from every single thing! It is an 7 minute drive to the actual resort from the gate. Thus, you will be forced to pay either twenty five dollars per person round trip daily for a shuttle that only runs if there are 4 people signed up to go into town or more ridiculously, you will be absolutely FORCED to pay eighty dollars round trip for a taxi that will increase if you have more than 2 people. So, if you plan to go into town, and decide to stay at the resort, you will NEED to rent a car or risk spending exorbitant amounts of money on transportation. I told management that this is a caveat that they should absolutely state on their website so that people have the option of deciding based on a factor that most would not ordinarily consider but certainly will affect the total cost of one's vacation that would otherwise be unanticipated.

Les - : Staff attitude. Food.
The physical location of this resort is outstandingly beautiful. The resort grounds are well maintained as are the physical buildings and the rooms. the staff was a mixed bag, some very helpful and pleasant, others who glared and seemed to resent doing their jobs. The food was average to above average but not innovative. And the prices! We are sophisticated Americans who have lived in Europe for several decades and have travelled extensively all over the world. We were at the resort for a wedding of friends so did not really spend any time getting information about the resort before we arrived. We were appalled at the prices for the simplest things and felt exploited especially when the staff was less than pleasant. We realize that this is how resorts operate but expected more luxury and higher quality service given the prices of the room and meals. It was not a bad experience at all but it definitely was a disappointment. Perhaps our standards are unrealistic!

Rent och fräscht hotell

Vi var två stycken som ville ha ett lugnt och härligt avslut på en fantastisk semester i USA. Vi är helnöjda med hotellet! Så rent och fräscht och utsikten var man än var... paradiset! Perfekt för att bara slappa några dagar och ligga på en solstol och göra ingenting. Ligger lite utanför, kan behövas bil.
