« This was a great place for living the pioneer lifestyle and learning firsthand the challenges, realities, and benefits of slowing down to non-electric and non-refrigeration times. The facility was as advertised and the host Walton was very helpful but not intrusive. If you are interested in helping around the farm, be sure to ask. There's always plenty to do. Great do-it-yourself experience. »

« This was a cozy beautiful house. It was a little outdated for our liking. The room is fully rugged which made me feel a little uneasy with my allergies. It need a bit of upgrading on floors and bathroom. The beds in the first and third room were not very comfortable. The owner is a kind sweet person, also very attentive. The house is welcoming. »

It was a perfect getaway in a perfect location at the beginning of the Virginia Creeper Trail.The farmhouse was great with nice hot showers, outside fire pit and grill, plenty of games, TV, towels , relaxing porches, night time stars, and room to relax. « As soon as you pull in you are greeted by a beautiful willow tree. The property is just amazing, from the trout stream to the house. Oh my, the house, it is picturesque, it should be featured in a magazine. It is the cleanest vacation rental house we have stayed in. A big plus, just a short drive to Watauga lake. The host, Gary, is super friendly. We can’t wait to come back! »
