Convienent hotel for price.

Publié le 1 mai 2016
there was no cord for our phone. No pot for the coffee. Other than that it was OK. I asked for a receipt when I checked out and they told me it would be emailed because they don't give out paper ones, and I have yet to receive it.

not great, but it did the job.

Publié le 15 mars 2016
Les + : Nice staff, close to main roads and U of Chicago.
Les - : doors, fridge, too noisy, internet access was terrible.
Situation : good location - we went for U of Chi and this was very close. Aquarium and science museum are close, but all charge for parking - take free shuttle.
The room had a view of the lake, as promised. But the outer door for the hall did not shut or lock, and then the room door did not fit the frame properly - a 1.5 to 2 inch gap on top. The fridge was a pain - either warm or froze everything. And the walls were thin so we heard everything around us (or maybe it was the door gap). We slept fine, and it served us as a room. Most of the staff I interacted with were pleasant. The area around the place was dirty (trash all over), but that is not the hotel's fault.

Les + : safety
Les - : n/a front desk help as far as transportation to the city and directions around the area
Situation : close to university of chicago, which was where we went to a concert
The front desk clerk was unable to give us directions to the hotel from interstate 55.

NOT 3 stars hotel

Publié le 28 janv. 2016
It's price of 3 stars hotel, but it's definitely not a 3 stars hotel. It looks like a motel and feels like a motel. The air-conditioner in the room is terribly loud, and air is stuffy and unhealthy. However otherwise if you switch it off you will become frozen.

Pleasantly surprised

Publié le 27 janv. 2016
I had been passing over this place every time I visited Chicago because of the reviews and ratings. I decided to go ahead and give it a shot this time and I'm glad I did. It does have a little bit of a motel look to it on the outside but that's where it stops. The woman that checked us in was very nice, as was any other staff member I interacted with during our stay. When I walked into my room the first thought I had was how nice it smelled. The room was spacious with a comfortable chair as well as a desk and nice office chair. Even the bathroom was roomy. We ate at the on-site restaurant twice and the service and food was wonderful. As a bonus they have a shuttle to the University of Chicago and other local places. I will be staying here again!

Cheap and weird hotel.

Les - : New paint in hallway
Situation : Museum, right next to the lake
Not much to see here. If you need a cheap south shore hotel, you can stay at this place or the Quinta Inn next door (which at least from the outside, looks much nicer but definitely a little pricier). Weird set-up; I had to go IN to the Quinta Inn in order to check in to THIS hotel (same employee handling both hotel's front desks). Check-in was fine, no issues. Front area sort of dumpy. Hotel is designed like a motel. That is, you drive up near your room, park there, go inside. Hallways dingy, with peeling paint. Room was okay, small but clean and enough space for 1-2 people. TV okay, with some premium channels. Fridge/Microwave. Check-out was fine, nice friendly staff. I would stay again if I needed a room south, depending on the price. Not a place to stay if trying to impress someone.
