Originally part of the Seeburg Ranch, now Aspen Glen, it has been thoughtfully relocated and reimagined as a serene, self-contained retreat. Tucked behind a quiet home just steps from downtown Carbondale, The Red Door Hideout offers a unique stay steeped in Roaring Fork Valley history. Built in 1888 and originally part of the Seeburg Ranch (now Aspen Glen), this log cabin has been carefully preserved and relocated—bringing its storied past into the present with quiet elegance and modern ease.

Warm wood-paneled walls and antique accents offer a timeless welcome, while fresh renovations and cozy comforts make it feel effortlessly livable. The open-concept living space features a smart TV, plush seating, and a dining nook framed by antique captain’s chairs. This home now features A/C in the living room, keeping you cool in the peak summer months. A well-equipped kitchenette includes a 2-burner stovetop, microwave, toaster, mini fridge, and sink—ideal for light meals and morning coffee before heading out to explore.

Great location and property. Only "negative" is I wouldn't have qualified this property as dog friendly. While dogs are allowed there are many rules about how they need to act and stay at the house and any violation of those results in additional charges. If I could have seen those rules before booking, I don't think I would have booked here for my furry friends.

I stayed at the Red Door for week (play & work). The location is great but as other reviewers mentioned you will experience alley noise. The internet was a little slow (consistently 3ish down and 6ish up) make work video calls a challenge at times. I would definitely recommend this place give the location but proceed with caution if you are a light sleeper and/or plan to work remotely.

The place was clean and quaint, our stay here was comfortable and communication with the management was good. The alley access was a little unexpected, I may have missed it in the description but we managed and still enjoyed our stay. We stayed in September and glad there were fans which kept it comfortable for us could be a concern in the hotter months. Overall was a good experience and if we come back to Carbondale would consider this cute cabin again!

This is a great place to enjoy everything the area has to offer. It’s super clean and close to downtown. Just the right size for 2 people. The hosts were great and helped us get fans to cool it down in an extra warm day.

This hot property is located right in the heart of all the late-night action that Carbondale has to offer. It is literally off of an alley to several major establishments on Main Street. The cabin has a cozy couch, high ceilings, and it is flooded with sunshine early in the morning. Parking is just twenty yards or so away from the front door. The cabin sits within a pretty, well-maintained back yard of a historic Carbondale home.

I don’t really like dealing with property managers as I feel it takes the intimacy out of the booking process but the place really was a perfect complement of the natural landscapes. You can feel the history. You are in someones backyard which is kind of off putting but overall an excellent choice for travelers.

We had a great weekend sking Aspen and loved staying at the Red Door. We were able to walk to great restaurants for dinner and then enjoyed a cozy night hanging out in the cabin. This is a perfect place for 2 people to enjoy a long weekend.

We loved the Red Door Hideout! The location is perfect. We enjoyed the close proximity to restaurants, hiking trails, and Nordic skiing. The space is super cute, cozy, and met all of our needs for a 2 night stay in Carbondale.

Property is as advertised. Charming historic cabin within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Comfy bed and nice walk in shower. Fridge doesn’t have a freezer - so bring a cooler and ice . We loved not having to drive to get dinner. Highly recommend this property
