« Check in and locating the house we’re really easy with great arrival information from the owner. The house had everything we needed with lots of space. We were very comfortable and the private space to park at the top of the village was a great help. A fantastic location in the village. »

« Great location for sure, and this is a wonderful location. But… the house was for sale and I wonder if this has impacted some of the cleaning (cobwebs, filthy microwave and rusting knives). The biggest issue was construction going on next door and not being made aware this was taking place in advance (otherwise we would have cancelled). Lots of scaffold over windows, and banging/music going on - this would have been in place for several days/weeks. Stayed here before and love this place but this...

« AVOID AT ALL COSTS Overall a really horrible stay. From dirty linen to really poor communication it was not a great stay. I definitely do NOT recommend. Holes on the wall, damaged furniture, a dirty sock on the floor, beds not made, smoking alarm coming off the ceiling, dirty linen, no toilet paper… Contact with the host as also been appalling. Been trying to resolve this situation and still waiting on a solution so AVOID! »

« Our cottage was exactly as pictured and described. Our hostess left really good instructions and made sure we felt welcome with a personal note. The property location is absolutely perfect, close to restaurants, stores, and many shops; all within walking distance. It is a great hub for seeing the Moors, the Dales, and the Lake District. We couldn’t be happier with our stay. »

« Beautiful property in a fantastic location. So many amenities on your doorstep, lots of dining options. Property is close to many attractions in the area, would definitely stay here again, »

« Property was very clean and had all the facilities required for a pleasant stay. Booking of property was confusing due to both parties offering damage waivers - started the stay off on wrong foot as paid both. Although, the property itself helped dilute this additional payment. »

« I didnt stay at the property because the host received a double booking, kept me in the cold and gave me a terrible experience on my graduation day. »

« Cottage was ok but after booking through hotels.com I was contacted by Host & Stay and advised I had to pay an additional fee for a damage waiver. Alternatively I could pay a deposit but they take an admin fee so you don’t get the full amount back plus they state they may take 14 days to refund. »

« Beautiful cottage with fantasia views. My mum would have been happier if there was a handrail on the stairs. And just be aware limited parking, the neighbours DONT like it if you park outside their house. There are spaces on the slipway so ok if you are able bodied. We loved it and want to stay again x »

« This really is a stunning property, it is well catered for families and dogs too. The location is spot on and there is tons to do around the area with amazing walks and scenery to local markets and nice restaurants and pubs. Jo is a fantastic host and we can't wait to get back there next year. Thanks Jo we really appreciate how easy the whole process was and how lovely your property is. 10 out of 10 from the Burnett family. »

« Excellent venue with lots of parking. Very clean and spacious. This was a last minute booking and communication was poor. You don't get access instructions until you pay a waiver that costs either an additional £10 or £25 depending on what you choose. And then you have to chase to get it back. Sounds a bit of a con to me but I had no choice. Overall though the property was excellent, just let down by a poor letting agent in my opinion. »

"Très bon rapport qualité-prix. L’hôtel offre une grande flexibilité pour l’installation, même en cas d’arrivée tardive, ce qui est très appréciable. La chambre était propre, le lit spacieux et confortable, parfait pour passer une bonne nuit. Pour le tarif proposé, la prestation est vraiment satisfaisante et répond pleinement aux attentes."

"L'hôtel est en bord de route mais la chambre donnait sur l'arrivée (vue sur un champ de blé), donc calme. Nous avons pris le repas du soir et le petit-déjeuner : tres bon rapport qualité-prix. Le seul point negatif reste la vétusté de la salle de bain. Nous avons été accueillis avec le sourire. Je recommande. "

"A comfortable and nicely appointed hotel in the centre of the town. Many hotels allow early check-in if rooms are available, but NOT the Hampton by Hilton. You pay £10 per hour extra. A very disappointing practice. Low-cost airlines charge for every little extra; it seems that there are low-cost hotels!"
