Thanks for staying with us Rebecca and thanks for letting us know you enjoyed the views, beds, and the kitchen. We try to keep the villa really well stocked and all set up for our guest’s enjoyment and to make their stay with us easy. We recently just updated our parking area right above the villa to make parking much easier. We actually have two hosts at the villa, Damian and Dulice, so depending on when guests check in, one of our hosts will typically meet with guests to show them around to make sure they are all set up for their stay with us.

We’re lucky to have such good driver/guides such as Kendy, Benton, Claive, and Damian, who also serves as our new host at the Treehouse Villas. Walking in general can be a little challenging in St. Lucia, especially during the high heat in the afternoon and of course because St. Lucia is quite mountainous—we have hills everywhere. But you can always get a ride back from the beach or to the beach by one of the local drivers. Hope you can come back as we would love to host you again!

Hi Juliana, We really loved reading your review and description of your experience at the Treehouse and it made us laugh a little. The bird you mentioned, we fondly refer to as “Henry.” We have no idea where that name came from but that’s what we call him as he likes to come around a lot to do some entertaining. He definitely loves bananas and other tasty fruits. Fortunately, there is always a lot of fresh fruit around to keep him happy. We also like to snorkel starting at the Soufriere Beach Park. The reef that starts here spans all the way to the north and thus you can hug the coast on a calm day and do quite a long snorkel as you swim and enjoy everything you can see along the way. Lots of guests go to the resorts nearby and certainly enjoy them but this part of the coastline is really special so glad to hear that you were able to really enjoy it. Thanks so much for staying with us Chris. We’re glad to hear that you had a really nice time at n St. Lucia and at the Treehouse. Sitting on the balcony and just watching the amazing sunsets roll in is one of our favorite pastimes to enjoy also whenever we are on island in paradise. Our villas are located in the Anse Chastanet foothills, which sits right above town and we’re just right up the road from the Anse Chastanet Resort and the posh Jade Mountain, one of the top resorts in all of the Caribbean. But St. Lucia is a very mountainous country and most areas are fairly rural, so walking to many locations isn’t a preferred mode of transportation. Some islands in the Caribbean are fairly flat but St. Lucia is nit one of them! We always try to let guests know about this in our listings and in our very detailed travel guides so that they can plan for transportation. One of the big highlights of our area is that there are so many things to see and do but the entire Soufriere region is rural and things are really spread out. But the local drivers who also operate as guides really make adventures in the area enjoyable. Transportation costs on the island are not inexpensive, as with many areas like this one might travel to, because fuel and vehicle costs and maintenance are very high. We hope you have a lot of great memories and that you’ll want to come back to St, Lucia again.

Spending lots of time on the deck and taking in the views and enjoying the wildlife is one of our favorite pastimes when we are at the villa. Of course traveling around the area and enjoying the actives available is great fun too We’re glad you loved your stay and a wonderful experience. For Covid testing to return to the Us btw, guests do have a few options: (a) they can bring test kits that are linked with an online health practitioner verification, (b) go to the test lab in town., (c) or have a nurse come up to the villa. The nurse just charges an extra fee for the service.

Thank you Katie and Justin for visiting the Tree House and we're glad to know that you enjoyed your stay and that you would like to come back to visit St. Lucia again. It's great that you we're able to do a lot of things and enjoy yourselves! Just to clarify a few things: When you booked The Treehouse we sent you our comprehensive guides as we do for all guests with the lists of amenities and activities available. With COVID-19, this has been very challenging, as things can be shut down unexpectedly, or curfews can be added or taken away with only a day's prior notice. However, cars rentals have not been made available to guests since March of 2020 and this remains in effect. All of the information that we have provided indicates this, and guests are fully aware of this at the time of their booking as well as other ongoing restrictions that have been put into place. Katie did contact us on 2/24, after I had sent her the most current updates on policies that we had received, and inquired about the cancellation policy as she was unhappy with the car rental situation and the curfew that had been put into place. As it was 4 days from her arrival, cancelling to receive a full refund was simply not possible under our policy. We did offer that if they cancelled and we could re book those dates that we'd be happy to give them a credit toward a future stay. She indicated that they would go ahead and keep the booking. We were dismayed to hear that despite the current laws in St. Lucia requiring visitors to not wander unsupervised into town, that our guests opted to do so without regard to the laws in effect that they were aware of well prior to their departure, and reiterated upon their arrival to St. Lucia. The laws are to protect the local population and visitors from the spread of COVID-19. Outbreaks are devastating in these small Caribbean countries and in the small communities of the island. Despite what they may have experienced in town, this puts Villa owners and resorts into jeopardy of losing their license to operate, as well as putting staff members at risk. There have been several instances in St. Lucia of hotels and guesthouses that have been forced to shut down. We were rather shocked to hear about their assessment of Charmaine. She has been a a valued team member of the Tree House staff years, and has always gone out of her way to provide exceptional service to guests. She was never consulted about pricing for trips.

It’s something we never get tired of, year after year. The road to the Treehouse villas and the same road to Jade Mountain kind of adds to the adventure. I sometimes wonder what the area would be like if the road were wider and turned into a fancy paved road. It would make it easier to drive but it would bring so many more drivers to the area. As so many things in the Caribbean, you just learn to go with the way things are. Maybe we’ll see you back on the island sometime again.
