in Italy it is not possible to bring guests inside the rooms (it is a police requirement) and we follow rules.. this is not a place where you come and do whatever you want.. it is a place to come and sleep quietly and safely (and this is what my family offers) when you travel, it is interesting to learn from different cultures.. I think that is one of the reason we travel.

Anthony I am sorry to read your feedback as we always do all what we can to make our guests happy.. I personally checked you in last night (you stayed here only few hours) so basically had no time even to know the family or interact with us.. our property is also our home, so we want it to be safe and quiet, and that is the reason we do not provide keys of the front street door to our guests because we want to see who comes back to the rooms.. during 30 years of experience we learned that this is the only way to keep the property safe, because only registered guests will get in back to the rooms, and honestly this is such an important feature (same for the key of the rooms) it has to stay here at the reception when you are out of the room in the city, and when you get back to the hotel you collect keys back (simple and easy and no risks of loosing them) regarding TVs I can assure you they work (with 1000 channels in English, including cinema, sports and all the news channels like cnn, fox, cnbc, bloomberg, bbc, and so many more) so probably you were tired as you checked in late and left early morning??)and when you called me from the airport (after your checked out) to check if you left in the room an item, I went to check immediatley, I found it and offered to send it to you guys at home.. as I wrote previously, we are here to help and make it easy for our guests.

we are really sorry that you have not been completely comfortable, we will try to better understand what went wrong but both the beds and the hot water are our strengths (we change the mattresses once a year, completely new because the comfort of our guests is important) and here at the Golden there is plenty of hot water .. as well as the air conditioning that works very well and the wifi (we focus on the efficiency of the essential services of our guests)

Roberta, grazie graziee! very important review because it states all the important aspects we are focusing in:family ambience, family that lives in the property which adds lots of value to customers experience.. Air Conditioning that woks and you can feel it as you enter the room.. double windows that keeps rooms quiet for a good sleep, comfortable beds.. and then very good hot water pressure (we just invested in a brand new water hardware to make showers even better) it is the essentials that we have learned during the years that really matters to our guests.. and we are so happy that you have highlighted them.

we are sorry to read that you did not enjoy staying with our family at the Hotel Golden.. and yes, when you leave air conditioning on with windows open and all the lights on in the room (when you are not in the room) what does it means?? we get an alarm here at the reception and WE HAVE TO GET INSIDE THE ROOM to either close the window or turn off air conditioning to elave the window open (I mean, is it normal???)I add nothing else!

grazieeee Sandi.. it makes our family super happy to read that you had a great experience here at the Hotel Golden.. it is our goal to make our guests feel part of the family (that is why we always say Rome as Home) and you make us enthusiastic when you guys write about it yourselves.regarding breakfast, after covid with all the inflationary pressures the global economy suffered, and given that we have a 30 years + customer base used to our place, we did not want to raise our rates accordingly, so we came out with this NEW discounted ROOMONLY rate plan that allows our guests to keep enjoying our place, our great location, by just removing breakfast out of the equation.. so our rate would still be so convenient compared to our competitors in our premium neighborhood (next to the oasis of the Borghese gardens, Spanish Steps, Via Veneto and Trevi Fountain) so our rates keep staying affordable and decent, and we invested those breakfast resources in other VERY important features like cleaning and sanitation (which our guests tell us in person that they notice it and really appreciate our efforts in doing so)the other reason we removed breakfast out of the rate with this ROOMONLY rate plan, is because just under our property, there are 4 very local coffee shops, where you can enjoy not only the Italian typical breakfast but also full american breakfast (great quality and convenient prices because those are all coffee shops for locals, so our guests enjoy it a lot, all of them with outdoors seating) and that is the reason we felt confident to procede with this roomonly rate plan.. hope to see you guys again soon!

grazie Holly.. we offer different sizes of rooms (and obviously rates go accordingly with the space available in the room) we go from the SMALL DOUBLE ROOM, then the CLASSIC DOUBLE ROOM, the SUPERIOR DOUBLE ROOM and then the super big FAMILY SUITE (so it depeends on each one needs)
