« Carol and Chris were great hosts and the rooms were to a good standard and good value for money. Breakfast was included and was great. »

« A cosy sea front hotel above a pub. Room 404 had superb bay window for admiring the view of the beach and sea across to The Spinaker Tower. The room is bright ,warm plenty of lights, mirrors and storage. A few things are a bit tired, curtains don't close properly, chest of drawers damaged and sink worn but comfortable bed and efficient shower over bath .Friendly staff and guest entrance when staff not on duty. Good value . »

« C'est un peu délicat de réserver pour 3 semaines dans un hôtel que l'on ne connaît pas à l'avance. Mais je n'ai pas été déçu. L'accueil est très chaleureux. Le breakfast parfait. La situation idéale et calme. La chambre était peut être un peu petite pour un long séjour comme le mien mais toujours très propre. »

« Clean and comfortable , good size room in a convenient area for trains and buses. Not far to walk to old village or seafront. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Paul was friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat in the evening . »

« Overall ticks all the boxes . In some need of updating , decor , furniture . Mattress too soft for me , a topper or new one would be ideal. Parking was fine. An altercation with the owner and a guest at 1.30 am on my second night didn’t help my sleep . Whilst my room was next door to the entrance , and in all probability not the fault of the owner , regardless , there are other guests in the accommodation to consider. Overall decent for the price . »

« We loved our stay. We were in the Fat Badger room in the garden. It is a tranquil oasis. The owners are so kind and can’t do enough to help. Breakfast is delicious with lots of local produce. One of the nicest places I have stayed in a very long while. »

« We had the family room which is a self contained place with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen-dining area, there was lots of room and privacy. It was clean and tidy. It’s right on the Coastal Path so it was perfect for us on a walking holiday. »

« Fantastic stay . The hosts couldn’t do enough for us , very obliging , helpful , informative, friendly . Hotel is in a prime location with added convenience of parking . Breakfast was amazing , and the pastries to take away is such a nice touch / gesture . We will be returning back next year . »

« Mandy is a fantastic host--she went over and above to make our stay comfortable (including lifts to and from the ferry port and letting us meet her two gorgeous dogs). The breakfast was absolutely cracking and the BnB is really well located, comfortable and clean. Our room was beautiful and cosy, we would definitely stay here again!! »

« The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes »
