« This is a very low cost hotel, it’s an old building, and can be chilly and grubby in certain areas, so pretty basic. The personnel are warm and helpful. I needed extra blankets and were given them with a smile, and once the electric heater started to warm the place up we were fine. There is a cooked breakfast which is adequate, and with plenty of toast, marmelade/jam and hot coffee is enough to start off the day. « Reception check in was smooth and friendly. Consideration of an event being held on a Saturday evening was communicated to us so we were put on the higher level floor (2) so we didn't get disturbedby the noise. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy, ironing board and hairdryer were supplied in the room along with coffee and tea making facilities. All the staff were very helpful and polite. Very reasonable room rates for an extremely comfy and clean hotel. »

"Felt like being part of a cruise for some reason, the entertainment, size of the hotel, gave that ambiance. The rooms need to be refreshed (the bathroom was old) but all in all, we still had a good time in Folkestone so I'd still give it a 7 if I had to rate the experience."
