« We had a difficult start due to stained duvet cover, missing mug and half a toilet roll. Reported but 4 hours later not sorted. Eventually sorted at just before 10pm, by which time we'd also found a pair of jeans and underwear at other side of the bed! Items were removed by staff. The next morning spoke to manager who listened and was very apologetic for everything stating not the standard she would expect from the staff/hotel and immediately offered an uograded room. « In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« Chambre exiguë, à se demander si ce n'était pas une chambre de bonne reconvertie (3 m de large sur 4 m de long), eau bouillante pour la douche à 2 reprises (2 matinées de suite) : merci pour les migraines de la journée ! Pas de wifi dans les chambres : nécessité de se rendre dans les salons et à l'accueil situés au rez de chaussée pour se connecter à internet avec smartphone et pc portable. »

« Was very disappointed with the cleanliness of not just the hotel but the pub attached also. The toilets in the pub were disgusting, with no hand soap the whole 4 days of our stay. The whole place looked very worn & tired. I have know idea how on earth it’s classed as 4 stars as I would say it’s 2 at the most. How any one can rate it excellent is beyond me as it’s not even a great location! Will definitely not stay here again or consider using a Marstons inn again. »

« Although dated and in need of modernisation, this place was clean with everything you need. Checking in and accessing the room key was quick and easy. The room was large, bathroom was clean, bedding was clean. Tv worked. plenty of hot water. »

« We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings »

« Awful!! Absolutely Awful Place!!! Checked in by a young girl who said virtually nothing. Nothing about where the room was located, breakfast, the restaurant or where anything was. As a result we eat out. No signs for lift or where the rooms were! Got in the car in the disabled carpark to find there were ropes across with 3 wooden posts.
