« The Skipton Hotel was well appointed for a short towpath walk to Skipton centre. It had a lovely view, staff were generally helpful, and breakfast was fine. Our room though (a studio on floor 5) was baking hot and when we complained about this we got given an extra fan. It wasn't just that the weather was hot (it was) but the generators and other plant equipment sent heat through the floor into the room making it sauna like. We feel we should have asked to be moved but didn't want to complain...

« Met expectations of a 5* hotel. Unfortunately there was a power cut, this was not a fault of the hotel. The staff handled it brilliantly and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay despite the slight set back. »

« Arrival was easy, nobody manning reception but was not a problem, key left on the side clearly labelled and clear instructions etc. Room clean and well presented, good amenities, including tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. Room not perfectly blackout with some streetlight coming in round the side of the curtains, and a faint green light from the fire exit sign, not something that bothers me as I sleep with my eyes closed, but some day dreamers might want a blindfold. « The bedroom has a very comfy bed with lovely views. The restaurant wasn’t so good, tables were sticky and not clean at all. Breakfast was chaos, bread wasn’t there had to ask for it to be stocked up. There were no plates for toast, the only ones we saw were all dirty. The waiter didn’t know what muesli was. »
