« L'accueil dans cet hôtel qui fait aussi pub et restaurant est très chaleureux. Les chambres sont assez spacieuse et la literie confortable, même si cela semble un peu vieillot...(c'est peu être à la mode en Angleterre..?) Toutefois, pour ce tarif on y est bien mieux que dans une chaine d'hôtel style F1... Bref pour un séjour sans se ruiner sur Durham et sa région, je recommande vivement cet hôtel ! »

« It was a last minute plan to visit the Barnard Castle area for the weekend and we were pleased to find the Bothy available. The location is ideal being just outside Barnard Castle and it was easy to find using the directions provided by the host. It is a lovely rural location with views of farmland so it was nice and quiet. « Loved this folly! Views are amazing, it’s so unique. Beautifully set out and well equipped. Kids loved seeing the horses in the next field and we had a great evening walk down to Blast Beach. Comfy beds, we slept really well. I’d stay again! »

« When we arrived it was clear the cottage had not been cleaned. The previous occupants' dirty sheets and towels were piled up and there were no clean sheets or pillowcases for the bed. The kitchen was dirty and there was damp and peeling wallpaper. It was not possible to contact the owner straight away and after a couple of hours we were told the owner could not send a cleaner until the following day.
