« We traveled from out of town for my grandmother‘s funeral. It was the perfect oasis we needed during our difficult time. The host was amazing with communication and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay.The house and backyard were more than we expected.. highly recommend! Will definitely book again. »

« I feel like reviews have been hit or miss for this place so I wanted to leave a detailed one. The place is a great size and had plenty of space for everyone to stay. There’s actually 7 bedrooms if you count the bunkroom, which doesn’t have a door to but is great for kids to sleep. There’s 3 rooms with double beds, 3 rooms with kings, and then the bunk room with 6 twins between all the bunks. The interior of the house was very clean and had a well stocked kitchen with plenty of kitchen utensils...

« I booked this cozy place for a girls golf weekend. It was a great location. House was very nice, clean and comfortable. Easy check in. Would highly recommend. So close to the park - perfect for those leaf peeping weekends ! »

« The house is charming and comfortable. We upstairs bedroom has a great balcony and jacuzzi tub. It’s a little off the beaten path but great for a weekend away for some hiking. »

« This was such a wonderful property in a nice location on the lake. The house has been recently renovated and has modern amenities and decor. A screened in patio to relax on, sprawling property down to the lake and the boathouse including a nice fire pit, and a parking lot that can easily accommodate two vehicles or a vehicle and a small trailer. It's nestled into a corner of the lake so you only have neighbors to one side, and everything was very quiet and peaceful. This was an excellent choice...

« Great location for historic sites or Shenandoah national park. Host is very responsive, great spot with plenty to keep you busy when you've finished for the day. Great set of games, pool, ping pong, puzzles, arcade games, snacks, coffee. Enjoyed the stay and will be back if we're in the area. »

« We were there to celebrate my best friends end of life. The party at the boat club was excellent. Our whole gathering was very beautiful. The rental was exactly what we needed at the time. Thank you for extending your hospitality. »

« Ideal - spectacular were descriptions I received when I asked family what review to give. We recently stayed at Carter House four days mid-September for a family reunion. Eight adults stayed at the house and 10 local family members visited. Large play area in basement was perfect for the children. Plenty of room and comfortable furniture in spacious great room for adults. Decor added to comfortable atmosphere. We had good weather so first floor deck with outdoor couches and table were used...

« We were in town for the Virginia Clay Festival and the location was perfect! A short drive to the event location and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The house is perfect! The lot is very quiet and peaceful. We didn't think of anything we needed that wasn't provided. »

« Outstanding property with great lake access. Well maintained boat dock. Home is well designed for a perfect lake experience including a game room, ‘Board Room’ for storing lake accessories, outdoor fire pit, outdoor gas grills and a very good air conditioning system. »

« Loved this place so much. I only wish it was more affordable- the fees are really high! But you could definitely fit a ton of people in this place. There are two big bedrooms that could easily have littles plus parents. The game room was legit and one of the few places with an air hockey table! They had a lot of equipment for the lake which the kids really enjoyed. »

The second bathroom was large and beautifully updated. Communication with our host was easy; he provided all the info we needed. Short walk down street to beautiful Lake Anna. »

« The property was very nice and in a great location. The wooded outdoor space was fantastic. The walkway to the dock was a bit washed out, but our family had no issues. They provided 2 adult kayaks, 2 youth kayaks, and two paddleboards, as well as several life jackets and floatation toys. The house definitely felt like a cabin in the woods that could use updating, but it served our purposes beautifully. The communication was on point. It is apparent that the propery owner cares. »

"Tout était excellent à l’exception du passage sur les étages qui n’était pas climatisé ou presque. Un ascenseur ne fonctionnait pas et l’autre émettait des sons pas très rassurant à l’ouverture et à la fermeture. Le déjeuner était excellent, et le personnel courtois."

"Nous avons passé 3 nuits début juillet 2025 à Skyland, et ce fut une expérience exceptionnelle ! Notre chambre double avec deux lits queen était spacieuse, propre et très confortable. Elle disposait de tout le nécessaire : TV, Wi-Fi, machine à café, et surtout une superbe terrasse avec une vue à couper le souffle sur les montagnes de Shenandoah : un vrai bonheur au lever comme au coucher du soleil. Le personnel a été extrêmement accueillant et serviable tout au long du séjour, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus agréable. L’hôtel est idéalement situé au cœur du parc, parfait pour rayonner sur Skyline Drive et profiter des randonnées sans passer trop de temps en voiture. Sur place, tout est prévu pour un séjour pratique et agréable : restaurant, bar, boutique, machine à glace, parking gratuit… (Seul petit point à noter : il n’y a pas de piscine, mais franchement, on ne vient pas ici pour ça !). Nous recommandons chaudement Skyland à tous ceux qui veulent profiter pleinement de Shenandoah NP dans un cadre naturel, calme et authentique. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter !"

"Une nuit à Fredericksburg dans cet hôtel. Les lits sont confortables. La route est passagère mais les chambres sont bien insonorisées. Le personnel est très accueillant et sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est très complet et bon. "
