« This is a beautiful home and a nice location. Worth the money, we will be back. »

« This place and the host are absolutely wonderful! I’ve never had such an amazing experience as saying at Shady Oaks. Thank you again for the snacks, water, and wonderful note along with making sure we had everything we needed during the hurricane. Our family loved every aspect and felt like home in the beautiful peaceful environment. I hope to come back again and visit! »

« Such a unique property. It felt like we were staying at someone’s lake house. So many homey touches throughout - eye mask in bedside nightstand, coffee, creamer, sweetener in kitchen plus well stocked seasonings. Blankets in den and bedroom. Lots of towels. The grill was great for our steaks we picked up at the Piggly Wiggly nearby. »

« We had such a relaxing stay, we spent most of our time on the back deck admiring the amazing view of Lay Lake. »

« Location was wonderful. Very clean and as advertised. »

« Great property!!! My kids came for the weekend and it was perfect! »

« Second time to stay and had a great time! »

« This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The property is filthy and dilapidated. The sink water smells like a swamp and we couldn't use it to cook or wash, there were bugs everywhere, including the cabinets, there was rodent poop with the pans, the wifi didn't work, the owners didn't respond at all to my multiple texts. We had to leave early and get a hotel. Stay away from this place. »

« Great getaway. Really relaxing. »

« Joy’s Place was the perfect home away from home for our family. Oxford is our hometown we grew up in. Over the past 39 years we try to visit at least once a year. It’s always nice to return to visit with family and friends and see how our hometown is growing. Joy’s Place offered everything we needed during our four night stay. The house was very well laid out and spotless. The beds were comfortable with great pillows. The bathroom towels and wash were also great quality. Everything we needed was...

« Such a beautiful property this was to stay in! Comfortable too! The beds were super comfortable, the home was clean and it was a perfect place to relax and spend time with family roasting marshmallows by the fire or having dinner in the covered porch outside. For us, the lake wasn’t close enough to really walk to and take advantage of, but that will not stop us from coming back to this place again and again when we visit our family here. It’s a great place place to stay! Highly recommended! »

« Wonderful place, feels like home »

« A rustic getaway with clean sheets on a great property. Exactly what I needed! »

« Beautiful home and beautiful setting to stay for my trip. The host is the best and nicest I’ve ever booked with. I would highly recommend, and I would stay again in an instant. »
