Great Hotel in DC

Les + : The rooms were very comfortable. Staff was friendly.
Situation : The hotel was in a convenient place and near a park with walking trails.
The hotel was great. We stayed for a long weekend to see the cherry blossoms. The hotel was right near the metro. There were restaurants within walking distance that were good. The Zoo is right up the road. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has no trouble getting around. This hotel is very big.

Nice room, expensive parking

Les + : Big parking lots, cleanness of the bed and bathroom. Many restaurant are near the hotel.
Les - : If parking could be cheaper.
Situation : 10 minutes driving from downtown DC. many places to eat, including McDonald's, Dunkin Dounts and chipotle.
Room is clean and comfortable. Asked for a roll away bed and staff carried it to the room quickly. Bathroom is clean as well. Nice hallway. Checking in and out is quick. Overnight parking is $41, which according to the receptionist, is because "this is Washington DC".

Les - : hotel staff, room condition, and conflict resolution skills for manager and staff
Situation : location was close to the Washington zoo so it was in a really nice neighborhood. Although there is a lot of traffic in the area.
I expected better from a Marriott chain than what I got. I expected a room that is clean, in good working order and helpful hotel staff. Instead, If I had booked a cheap hotel and expected less, I might have been happier. I got a room with stains on the very thin cover, the ceiling, and the tub. The desk lamp and light as you enter the room did not work. I did not have a disability but was placed in the accessible room. It makes me wonder if the Marriott views individuals with a disability as undesirable and do not care to keep their accessible rooms up to the same standard as all their other rooms? When I called staff about the condition of the room, the response was there was nothing they could do for me because the hotel was full. They did not offer to send someone to clean the room or change out the blanket, fix the light. What made it worse was that at 6 a.m. doors started slamming and I could hear the cleaning staff at 7 a.m. and then at 8:30 a.m., cleaning staff entered our room while my husband and I were sleeping naked. I have never had a good experience with Marriott and this is the last time I stay at one.

Les + : Close to a great running trail and close to the Metro train
Les - : The wireless internet and overnight parking had separate charges from the hotel cost. I would love to see those be complimentary.
Situation : The zoo was close, the Metro train was close, and an outstanding running/bike path was nearby.
The hotel was comfortable and quiet. I stayed for two nights and we were nearby many options.

Les + : Location
Very good with only one exception. When I asked one of the staff (on travel desk) about having a taxi in early morning, he was very short and I felt like I was bothering him, and his answers were wrong too. He really did not do justice to the rest of the staff, especially at the check-in registration, who was very courteous and helpful.

Clean hotel in great location

Though I arrived late in the evening, the staff made my experience very comfortable. The taxi stand staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Easy to find restaurants, shopping, and transportation.
