Perfect location!

Publié le 1 sept. 2014
Les + : Location and cleanliness.
Les - : Nothing.
We love this hotel! Everything, from check-in to check-out is smooth and professional. One reason we like to stay here is the proximity to the zoo. You are able to keep your car in the garage until 5pm so we stay for the night and then spend the next day at the zoo without having to worry about our car. There are some restaurants close by, but it's an easy walk to DuPont Circle where there are some really great places to eat. The room is a nice size and pristine, with a fantastically comfortable bed. We highly recommend this place to everyone!

Rooms need some help

Publié le 28 août 2014
Les + : Location was good, right on the Red line for Metro.
Les - : Staff didn't seem all that enthused to help you.
Situation : Close to the National Zoo, and Adam Morgan.
The carpet in the room had stains all over it. Beds were relatively comfortable, but if your looking for a little attention, this isn't the place.

Great hotel for the zoo

Publié le 26 août 2014
Les + : Friendly staff
Les - : Rooms are starting to get dated. Not bad but getting close to needing a refresh.
Situation : Zoo. Four blocks. Uphill there but importantly downhill on the way back.
Last minute getaway with the family to go to the zoo. This is an easy walk to the zoo. Kids loved the hotel and all the cool lights in the lobby (3 and 5yrs old). We forgot milk for the little one and the front desk helped us out with three milks (free). Staff was very nice.

Disappointed with room AC/fridge/wallpaper peeling

Publié le 25 août 2014
Les + : It's near a lot of options for dining.
Les - : Don't have wallpaper that is peeling, have AC and a fridge that works, more HD channels. Your check-in time is 4pm, have the kitchen open at 4pm.
Situation : A lot of nearby options for dining outside the hotel.
Everything outside of our hotel room was fine and looked decent. But once we got into the room we noticed that the wallpaper was peeling right above the TV. The AC was hardly working and only cooled about half of the room after being on at the lowest setting for hours. The fridge barely cooled our drinks after they were in there for hours. We contacted the hotel staff, they sent a person to look at the AC and they didn't fix the problem; same with the fridge. What's the point of having an HD TV when only about 1/3 of the channels are HD? We weren't contacted until the next day when we had left the hotel to see if our issues were fixed. I've been in worse looking hotels that had much better rooms than this. Really disappointed.

Les + : The lobby, restaurant and bar were very well appointed and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
Les - : It would have been nice if the market place staff was a little more friendly.
Situation : Excellent. Plenty of shops, restaurants are nearby, and the metro is located across the street for easy access to everything.
The hotel itself is very impressive and the staff is very helpful. However, the toilet in our room would only work if you flushed it twice, and you still had to fear if it would overflow. The gift shop, as expected, was very overpriced and the market place where you could get sandwiches, etc. did not have a friendly staff.

Great location, but needs TLC

Publié le 18 août 2014
While the Adams Morgan location couldn't be better, once you arrive you realize why rooms are available here for such a bargain. The usual Marriott comforts are in place (barring the pool, which was unexpectedly under construction), but it's more than just the pool that needs a facelift. The Park Tower, where I stayed, had large blocks of peeling paint on the soffits of many balconies, looking truly derelict from the street. Inside the room, carpet only extended about two-thirds of the way to the door--replaced with uncomfortable, cold white tile as you entered the room. The mini-fridge was unplugged, the coffeemaker not fully stocked (remedied on the 2nd day), staff could be heard arguing and shouting, and generally it felt like this part of the hotel--located a long way from the main lobby--had been forgotten about.

Great Hotel, too bad its in Washington

Publié le 16 août 2014
Les + : Quiet and clean with a very polite and friendly but not over friendly staff
Les - : Can't think of anything, except it could have had a cheaper breakfast than $20 One more coffee shop would have been useful too.
Situation : Its Washington, the largest free museums and galleries in the world. Its only a 20 min. walk away from all of that.
Loved the hotel. It was so quiet I slept 12 hours when I hit the pillow at night. I can highly recommend it, its just too bad most people who go there are not on holiday.
