Good location but the hotel is terrible. Under renovation, they didn't have front desk (literally just a desk), there was a hole in the ceiling of the room. Nothing like the pictures.

Exterior condition- scary!

Almost didn't stay. Pulled into the parking lot and was shocked at the appearance. They are apparently renovating, but looks like they should just demolish instead. Our room had been renovated nicely and was impeccable, but that was the only saving grace. Old furniture and mattresses piled in the parking garage, elevator was downright scary!

Could not leave fast enough

The room was clean but in disrepair. The water barely had any pressure. The desk chair broke and the tv had very few channels. The wifi didn't work. The rest of the hotel was under construction so that took away the lake view rooms and the fitness center

Basic accommodations in the heart of Hyde Park

Les + : It's clean and comfortable.
Les - : The beds have the general consistency of granite. I've rarely slept on a firmer bed in my life.
Situation : Hyde Park is right there and full of everything.
I arrived at the tail end of a major snowstorm and the hotel was under renovation. Given these circumstances, the check in process and stay were acceptable. The room was warm and clean. I will warn others about the shuttle. They don't have a backup driver. I was handed a document telling me to call 30 minutes ahead. I did and was informed that the driver had called in sick and I'd have to take a taxi - at my own expense. Not good customer service when they'd handed me information about the shuttle and schedule when I checked it. I am disappointed.

We needed to spend the night close to the U of I hospital for a very early apt. the next AM It Suited our need. The room was pleasant and VERY clean. The bed was comfortable, the staff was professional and very nice. The rate was reasonable. We have no complaints.

Close to Downtown

Les - : Hotel staff, Free breakfast with the price paid, Hotel does not look good, elevator was not working.
Only good thing about the hotel was it was close to downtown and they had free shuttle. Beside that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Did not get the service for what I paid for.

NIGHTMARE!! DUMP never stayed there the hotel has beer cans in the lobby and rat traps in the parking area and a huge air conditioner in the lobby

Worst hotel in my life

It was the worst hotel experience in my life. Internet did not work and nobody fixed it despite the fact that I asked receptionist several times about it. In addition, when I needed a cab they called yellow cab company and I was waiting for 40 min. Finally, I called by myself to Flash cab because receptionist told me that they can only call to yellow cab and yellow cab has very bad service for this unsafe area. My friend who stayed in another room did not get back his 25$ security deposit that he paid by cash when checked in because the receptionist told him that previous receptionist did not put information to the computer about his security deposit. I paid 25$ by credit card for my security deposit and I am afraid now that they also would just take this money from me and never refund them to my credit card. In the room the heater was not regulated. It either worked constantly and made very hot condition in the room or I just turned it off and then it was really cold. It is Chicago, bro :-). The condition of the hotel is not the best. They where under reconstruction and it was not convenient at all. Finally, the area where the hotel is located in not save area especially at night. So, do not even try to walk around. There is only one positive thing that I can highlight: cheapest price (now I know why it is cheapest :-)
