“Dream Apartments, a bad dream”

No cutlery, plates, glasses, anything in fact - three days to find them. Door hanging off it hinges. Windows that would not shut. Broken phone...the list goes on and on

“Woogo is an interesting concept”

Woogo seems to run a number of small appartment complexes from a central location in New York. I guess the overhead is lower, but there is no staff on site, and the only access to staff is via intercom. When you arrive, you ring and someone in a central location lets you in and gives you a room code. Trouble is in our case the room was clearly being used by someone else (looked like a decent small studio with kitchenette-would have been happy there). Back down to the front door to the intercom, and after a 5 minute sorting-out period, we were told that we would be upgraded to another location 20 blocks away. I had my doubts about the upgrade, but off we went. Got to the new location, and what an upgrade! A three room appartment with two bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen and dining room. New furniture, bedding etc. Way more than we paid for, and great compensation for the mess-up on arrival. SUGGESTION: upgrade the intercom system and add some instructions: I met some foreign travellers arriving the next day, and they were discouraged trying to communicate in a foreign language and decyphering how the system is supposed to work -it's kinda primitive and you have to strain to hear.

Though the room itself was nice with a fridge, microwave, bathtub, fast internet, lots of TV channels, the experience was very mixed. There is no one on site so the only communication is through an intercom outside the building. I was up and down the five flights of stairs many times. The first room "he" gave us had clearly not been cleaned. (Down & up) The second room key combination didn't work (down & up). When we entered, the room had been cleaned but had subsequently been used by someone who had sat on the bed and used the bathroom (down & up). No other apartments were available. I found clean linens and we stayed. The location is very good with great restaurants in the neighborhood. We finally found a place to park the car--there are not many garages in this part of the Village.

Bad, Bad, Bad

“Great hotel - but no weatherproofing. Very, very cold.”

GREAT hotel. Great location. Visited in February of 2010. But... IT WAS 58 DEGREES BECAUSE THERE IS NO WEATHERPROOFING ANYWHERE. Thank goodness we'd packed our adult-sized footed pajamas! Also no mattress cover, no duvet cover (yuck - I don't think you can wash down comforters - who knows how many people put their face/butt/etc. on that thing). No shampoo. Pluses: Nice sofabed in addition to a comfortable large bed (only one sheet for the sofabed - no blanket). Great kitchen - pots, pans, plates, bowls, silverware, dishsoap, microwave, gas stove/oven, kitchen sink, refrigerator, hot shower, fire escape, blow dryer, attentive 24-hour employee on the phone, huge TV, free wifi, DVD player, MP3 player hookup, bistro table, dresser, AC. Would definitely stay there again - but only if it was 75 degrees outside.

At check in, I did not expect to not have a lobby entrance. I stood at the door while someone I can not say who because i never saw them, but someone gave me my room number and key code over an intercom. I did not think that was safe since anyone that was passing by could here it. There was no elevator and my room was on the fifth floor. I had to climb up the stairs with luggage and all to the fifth floor. if you have a back problem, I would not recommend this place. The room it self was clean and the surrounding area seems to be cute if you are lover of the city life, you will love the area. Overall, it is not the Trump Towers but it will do.
