Hotel Villa Belvedere

Publié le 5 sept. 2014
Situation : Ten minutes walk from the busy town where there is a wide variety of restaurants and shops. On hot evenings the town is pretty packed.
This is a charming hotel perched on the side of the hill overlooking the bay. It is a converted private Villa dating from 1902, when the town was a popular stopping off point for the "Grand Tour" and still has many of the original features. The windows in the breakfast room are a particularly attractive feature, with stone arches overlooking the sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool is great. Luch is served from a pool side bar with various pasta dishes as well as a buffet and beers

Friendly hotel, good location and views

Publié le 23 juil. 2014
Staff all helpful. Location just outside of main shops etc was great as easy to walk to main streets (take flat shoes for all the steps!) but quiet. We had a room on 3rd floor with balcony - this was great with fab views. Pool area was lovely too, again some beds with views of the sea. Hotel quite pricey but probably not in relation to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was Ok but feel could have been better with a little effort (eg more fresh, less tinned fruits, freshly cooked sausage and bacon, more cold meat selection, fresh fruit juice)

Beautiful room at friendly hotel with a view

Publié le 21 juil. 2014
My wife and I just stayed at hotel belvedere on our honeymoon as one of our stops. We were given first class treatment with a warm welcome and a 10 minute explanation of all of the sites to see while we were visiting Taormina. The staff (specifically Joshua, Fulvia and Antonella) helped make our stay extremely enjoyable. We stayed on the top floor in a room with a balcony with a view of the pool and sea. It was absolutely gorgoues. We would certainly stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel well located.

Situation : Taormina attractions and restuarants are really only a short walk from this hotel
Great location with superb views over the bay. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked about bus times and before you knew it they were printed off for us, both to our destination and back. Buffet breakfast offers a good choice from fresh fruit and cereals to pastries, hams and cheese. The hotel was very clean with many areas to relax, both inside and outside. The car park is small and managed by staff to squeeze in that extra car. All in all we couldn't fault this hotel in any way and look forward to returning.

Nice Hotel

Publié le 28 juin 2014
Les + : Within walking distance to the Corso Umberto and cable car to the beach. Apartment was beautifull, amazing view, very clean and spacious.
Les - : Customer service and it was a little noisy in our apartment (i.e. next door or above).
Situation : We recommend visiting the Gambino Winery and Etna. Castelmola is well worth a visit too!
Upon arriving at the Hotel Belvedere we were told our room was not ready despite it being close to the check in time it would not be ready for another 45 minutes to an hour. We had to ask for a 20% discount voucher for their restaurant despite overhearing the couple before being offered said voucher. Apartment was good however, the higher the room the better the view. We were shown to our room by hotel staff member who whilst showing us the room jokingly pointed at the hob & said "you won't be using that will you?" which seemed odd as it is a self catering apartment. Instruction book within the room could be more explanatory about how the hob works, hotel staff did not know either. We found through trial & error that you need to place pan on the hob & then switch on, we were switching it on on its own & nothing would happen. The 3rd time we requested someone to have a look, they finally sent someone who did not know how it worked either. All that aside when we finally got into the apartment there was a lovely bottle of Prosecco and fresh fruit, nuts and crisps waiting for us. Our room was cleaned beautifully for us everyday.

Lovely, relaxing hotel, close to town

Publié le 18 juin 2014
Les + : The staff are extremely polite and friendly, the pool, the views towards the bay and Mount Etna, and the hotel's general peacefulness.
Les - : Our room, whilst spacious, felt a little basic, as though it was missing something, and with a view of the car park ramp meant it was a little dark.
Situation : Excellent location. Less than a 5 minute walk into the centre of Taormina where plenty of restaurants and bars can be found. Cable car to beach close.
Hotel Villa Belvedere is in a great location, just a few minutes walk into the centre of Taormina, yet in a quiet location overlooking the bay and Mount Etna. The drive from the airport was generally straightforward, but Taormina has some very narrow streets that are a little tricky to navigate in a car! The car park is down a steep slope, and with it being a small parking facility too, it's best to hand the keys over to the valet and let them manoeuvre your car into position. We didn't use our car for the 4 days we were there - Taormina is a small town which is best to get around on foot. The hotel itself was lovely. Clean and spacious with extremely friendly staff who all seemed to remember you, and know which room you were staying in. The front desk spoke English extremely eloquently and couldn't do more to make sure you were happy.

Lovely quiet hotel with great sea views

Publié le 2 juin 2014
Les + : It was in a quiet street but near to the main streets and restaurants. Clean in all areas. Kind staff. Beautiful room with sea view and terrace
Les - : The pool area could get busy in the afternoon - a few more sun loungers needed at peak times.
Situation : Plenty of restaurants and only a few minutes walk to town. The municipal gardens are nearby and are lovely. Bus station is 5-10mins away.
Very clean hotel with friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. No problem booking trips and taxis. Always plenty of food for breakfast.

Wonderful Hotel

Publié le 16 mai 2014
Les + : See the above
Les - : I cannot think of anything that needed improvement
Situation : Location was very close to all of the tourist action and attractions.
We checked in for two days. The hotel had parking valet service that was reasonable and much appreciated. The location was within a five minute walk to the main street in the old section of town. The view from the hotel and from our room was tremendous. The staff was helpful and friendly and when I could not program my TV an attendant was at my door within five minutes. We were given a one bedroom apartment with a patio and an exceptional sea view at no additional charge. There was a lemon tree in our garden with ripe lemons on it. We used some lemons to make fresh lemon aid drinks. All in all it was a wonderful stay.

Wedding Anniversary @ Belvedere

Publié le 14 avr. 2014
Les + : The location, the views, the staff, the breakfast, the cleaners, basically everyone and everything.
Les - : Nothing to say this time.
Situation : The hotel is right in the center of Taormina, and within walking distance of all main attractions, shops, and restaurants.
After reading the reviews for this hotel and they said to pay a bit extra to have a private balcony, and so we did, and our room was perfect, with a view of the swimming pool and Mount Etna. It was not so hot, but it was sunny and from our balcony we could catch the sun at any time. Will definatley come back in 2015.
