Conveniently Located

Publié le 6 janv. 2014 sur Hotels.com
The hotel is conveniently located around the main shopping area in Bangkok. Checking in is quite speedy and the staffs are really friendly. The rooms is standard size and its quite modern in design. The odd thing is the window looking in the toilet. Its unnecessary and does not flow with the theme of the room. The business also provide complimentary printing service if you need to print your tickets / boarding pass. Since the hotel is next to BTS and Skybridge, you can fully utilise this to go where the BTS / Skybridge connect. The nearest BTS is Central Chidlom and the Skybridge is connected to some shopping malls (Central World, Siam Paragon etc). Both the BTS and Skybridge are great for the able person, but not for families with strollers. They only provide escalators up the Skybridge but no escalators to go down. In short, this hotel is recommended for its location but will also consider other hotels in the same price range if Im in Bangkok in the near future.

Incredible value and impeccable property

Publié le 4 janv. 2014 sur Hotels.com
I was very surprised by how upscale this Holiday Inn was, especially as it faces an Intercontinental Hotel without slouching. The breakfast buffet downstairs is massive, the bar downstairs is open late, the pool is ample, and the rooms are incredibly modern and have little perks like volume control for the TV in the bathroom (what?). There is a weird glass wall dividing the bed and bathroom (is that supposed to be sexy?) and the common areas seem a little awkward to comfortably hang around in (stark lighting everywhere, limited privacy for couples) but the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Great location overall facing club Mixx and giant malls and train station within a block.

Although the hotel is aged, but it's very clean. I love the location of the hotel, very close to BTS and sooooo convenient to go everywhere.

Good location, room at value price

Great location, just next to Chit Lom BTS. Malls such as Central World, Big C, Platinum are just within walking distance. Other malls such as MBK and Terminal 21, Siam Paragon are also easily accesible via the nearby BTS Station. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had a great stay with my family. Will definitely go back to Holiday Inn Bangkok when I visit Bangkok again. Hotel staff was also very helpful !

I recommend the Holiday Inn Bangkok

Publié le 21 déc. 2013 sur Hotels.com
Service and hotel were very good. The bathroom was a little small also and the breakfast in the restaurant was ok. Would happily stay again. The only slightly disappointing thing was that the minibar was not being refilled apart from the drinks.

Small but comfortable

Publié le 1 déc. 2013
Les + : Ease of transportation, comfortable lodgings, local food and convenience stores.
Les - : Free internet.
Situation : Take the BTS to Saphin Taksin and switch to the river boat express to visit the Grand Palace by day or Asiatique by night.
I stayed in a superior room at Holiday Inn Bangkok for a week. The room was small but comfortable, and the location was fantastic for sightseeing and eating off of food vendors. Its proximity to Super C made it easy to purchase fruit and other snacks for off-hours, and the hotel supplied basic toiletries that you may have forgotten, from loofahs to combs. After a of touring around Bangkok, the bed was wonderful; not too hard or soft. The room was kept very clean, and the hotel was good about providing bottled water for free. The internet, however is another story. The maid did have a habit of forgetting to replace bathrobes, for some strange reason, but two phone calls to the front desk fixed the problem. Also, a corner of the bathroom was made of glass and covered by wooden blinds. It's meant to be an aesthetic feature, but I kept walking into said blinds while trying to reach the bed. It's difficult to see the Holiday Inn sign from a taxi, as it's blocked by the BTS. If your driver gets confused, its entrance is directly across from the Continental. There's a McDonald's across the street as well. If worst comes to worst, tell them to let you off at the Chitlom station--one of their staircases lets you off right at the driveway to the hotel.

six nights in Bangkok...

Publié le 21 oct. 2013
Les + : Pleasant clean surroundings, good restaurant. Breakfast disappointing - not catered to westerners at all. No bacon!
Les - : the swimming pool is too small and in a shaded area.
Situation : Pamela thai silk shop is very good, although everything is standard price of 10,000 baht.
Hotel was lovely, strongly advise not to book a public tour through hotel, we did, it was horrendous. Spent an hour collecting passengers in a mini bus not fit for cattle. Tour guide useless, no information given at all. a seven hour trip ended up being 14 hours. Driver did not return us to the hotel, but abandoned us in middle of nowhere, citing that he worked for an agency and was going home! Unforgiveable. When i complained, the hotel manager was very nice, and gave us free dinner, free wifi, and deducted the cost of the trip.
