Beautiful grounds, comfy room, excellent staff. They helped us arrange transportation from SJO airport to La Fortuna and back, as well as pick the next tour for a full day of ziplining, horseback riding, a visit to an indigenous village. Would definitely stay there again.

close to town and activities

Les + : Breakfast included
Les - : Need work inside the room
Situation : town, hot spring
The appearance of the hotel looks good, inside is not that great, need some work, inexpensive work will make the hotels look better such as shower curtain with 2 big holes still in use, no kleenex (tissue), no ice. Compare the price to quality, it is a little bit over pirce.

Hotel Magis Mountain

Publié le 2 août 2014
This hotel was outstanding from the time we checked in with Marolyn and Jason the bellhop to the restaurant and the manager and subsequently operating with Patricia at the front desk. I cannot speak highly enough of their service courtesy and just being genuine to the customer. they were excellent, the food was excellent in the restaurant.

Nice hotel close to the volcano

Publié le 27 mai 2014
The hotel is nice, close to everything. The restaurant is good, the only thing is that the parking lot is small. Also recommend to visit the restaurant Il Vagabondo, next to the hotel, excelent pizza and wine bottles at $20.

Under-rated fantastic hotel

Publié le 26 avr. 2014 sur Hotels.com
Fantastic value for money and far above a three star rating. We paid a bit extra for a Junior Suite - well worth it. Beautiful grounds, super clean, spacious and modern rooms. Had a few issues with the plumbing in the room but maintenance reacted as fast as possible whenever we needed assistance. Highly recommended! The little traditional restaurant next door is also a hidden gem!

Good but not amazing

The hotel is very close to downtown. The rooms are comfortable but the safety box it doesn´t work and the jacuzzi on the fist floor is a little bit cold.

Bad plumbing

Publié le 25 janv. 2013 sur Hotels.com
Everything was fine except the fact that our toilet was constantly clogging up. Both mornings we had to go down to my parents room to use the restroom because our toilet wouldn't work properly. Other than that big annoyance, the pool and view were nice and the breakfast was great.

Serves a purpose

Publié le 9 mai 2012 sur Hotels.com
This hotel was a good option for being reasonably priced in a great location with a GREAT view. It has a few cool pools (1 larger and two hot tub size) and a slightly warmer one right at the bar. No hot tubs, no hot springs. The rooms were decent (a few ants in the bathrooms - hard to avoid so I don't hold them responsible) and we had multiple difficulties with the door lock of our first room before having to switch rooms due to an air-conditioner malfunction. The rooms have outstanding views of the volcano. (I believe all rooms directly face the volcano, so if it's not covered with clouds, you can't miss it!) It is nice that includes breaktfast, although your enjoyment of it will depend on your tastes and comparisons. We liked it one morning of our stay and not the other. This hotel is relatively small and basic and certainly seems to serve a purpose for those looking for a basic hotel in which to sleep with a few basic amenities, but you will definitely want to go elsewhere for the hot springs or higher end choices.
