« Location was great, walking distances to 2 train stations, supermarkets, coffee shops and some restaurants. Just 10min or so train ride to central Sydney. Environment was quiet and nice. "When I approached the desk to check-in, a young woman came behind the counter and mimed that she was busy helping (with two other staff members) someone who was trying to check-in using one of the computer stations. When she had finished helping by giving a room card to the person at the computer station (leaving her colleagues to deal with the rest of the supposedly efficient, supposed staff-free check-in), she asked my name which I gave. Before I could spell my name (something I find it helpful to do at hotel receptions all over the world), she pulled a face and said a name I had never heard but could possibly be an English name. Her face and tone of voice both said "What a daft name!" I then repeated my name and spelt it. When she gave me two room cards, I asked for a third card (there were three adults sharing the room). She pulled a face, processed the third card and then said "That will be $10." I was speechless. She then said "That will be $10 - I am joking" and gave me the third card."
